Do you operate a tow truck in Western Australia? The TMA Tow Truck Monitoring Scheme (WA), introduced by Main Roads Western Australia (TCA) in collaboration with Transport Certification Australia, offers enhanced monitoring of tow truck movements, speed, and load status. This initiative ensures greater road safety and operational efficiency. To participate, transport operators must enrol through a certified Application Service Provider (ASP) certified by TCA to provide self-declaration services for the TMA application and install a TCA-approved telematics device. ℹ️ Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gTdHhbr7 #TowTruck #TransportSafety #WATransport #RoadSafety #Telematics #MainRoadsWA

Government's new AVAS ADR for #zeroemissions #buses set to improve pedestrian safety The new Australian Design Rule (#ADR) requires new electric, hybrid and hydrogen fuel cell cars, trucks and buses to be fitted with an Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (#AVAS) from November 2025. AVAS makes vehicles easier to hear by emitting a sound when travelling at low speeds in car parks, intersections and driveways. Vehicles fitted with an AVAS will not be any noisier than a conventional petrol or diesel vehicle. "A significant win for those [in] the blind and low-vision community who have long been advocating for alert systems like this to be introduced in Australia”, the system is expected to avoid around 68 fatalities, 2,675 serious injuries and 2,962 minor injuries by 2060, plus also save Australians around $208 million. 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 For over ten years, we have been developing advanced driver assistance systems specifically designed for trams, utilizing proven Bosch automotive technology to enhance safety and reduce the risk of accidents. Our journey began in 2012 with our first offering, laying the foundation for our innovations in rail technology. In 2017, we reached a major milestone with the introduction of the Tram Forward Collision Warning System (TFCW), which significantly improved tram safety by alerting drivers to potential collisions. By 2024, we had successfully delivered 3,500 TFCW systems worldwide - a testament to the trust our customers place in our solutions and our commitment to safe tram operations. In the same year, we expanded our portfolio with the launch of the Tram Assist Suite. This suite offers comprehensive assistance, which offers seamless all-round monitoring and significantly enhances safety in urban rail traffic. In everyday operations, unclear traffic situations - like heavy crowds during rush hour or poor visibility - can present major challenges for drivers. The collision warning system supports them by actively providing timely alerts about obstacles, helping to avoid accidents entirely or mitigate their consequences. This not only enhances the safety of passengers and road users but also reduces the stress on tram drivers, making their demanding job more manageable. With these innovations, we continue to move forward, dedicated to a safer, smarter, and more sustainable future for urban mobility - keeping both passengers and drivers safe and happy. #BoschEngineering #RailTechnology #TFCW #UrbanMobility #RailSafety #Innovation

FCC passes auto safety spectrum rules C-V2X will use existing cellular networks to send messages from vehicle to vehicle, vehicle to infrastructure, vehicle to cyclists, or vehicle to pedestrians to warn of each other's presence for safety purposes. It could cross-alert for hazardous road conditions, including speeding cars, weather, or traffic congestion. #FCC #ITS #CV2X #automotive #auto #cars #transportation
