Fantastic keynote address from the Minister for Women Hon Nicola Grigg followed by an inspiring panel discussion with James Kilty, Tracey Kai, Tracey Hickman, Anna Chalmers moderated by Chantelle Bramley with Rebecca Mehrtens as MC. Really great to attend this event and we at Hitachi Energy support the drive to close the gender pay gap in New Zealand!
Was a fantastic event, with great debate and amazing turnout
Thank you Transpower New Zealand for such an inspiring event. It's fantastic to see the electricity sector reporting and taking action to address gender pay gaps.

1mo🟣So glad I made it to the office afterhours to attend this event. Highlights: ⭐️ great to hear first-hand real life examples from leaders in our sector to raise awareness, measure and actively tackle the gap (both with failures and successes) 💡interesting to see some of the data on the top reasons why the gender paygap is there, based on 3 independent focus groups 💣 Not surprised to see the widest gap in our sector is for mid-career women stuck below the management step (~3× greater than top, or bottom career stages) with a whopping 22% gap versus ~8% at all other levels. 🤔 still surprised that the strategies to reduce the gap at the top fail to trickle the positive effects of the first point to address the issues of the second point 😮💨 frustrated to hear old rethoric of women lacking confidence, and that the onus is left with women, especially young ones to fend for themselves when they are most vulnerable in their careers, for example at a job interview 😪 tired to hear that of the few men who are frontline allies, many claim that badge only when they are personally impacted. #timeisup no more excuses. CLOSE.THE.GAP.
