Madrid has long been the quintessential destination for nightlife in Spain, renowned for its vibrant late-night culture, extensive range of bars, clubs, and cultural events. However, the bustling crowds and mainstream popularity might not suit everyone’s taste. For those seeking a fresh, distinctive nightlife experience, Bilbao emerges as a compelling alternative. Nestled in the heart of the Basque Country, Bilbao offers a unique blend of traditional charm and modern innovation, potentially positioning it as a city that could rival Madrid in terms of nightlife tourism. Bilbao, once an industrial powerhouse, has transformed into a cultural mecca, largely propelled by the iconic Guggenheim Museum. Popular nightlife spots in Bilbao include Casco Viejo (Old Town), Indautxu, Garcia Rivero Street, and the Pozas District. The city’s nightlife is concentrated in distinct zones, each offering a unique vibe. Bilbao also hosts several high-profile festivals, including the Bilbao BBK Live, one of Spain’s leading music festivals. Bilbao Airport (BIO) is the main gateway for international and domestic flights, serviced by major airlines, including Iberia, Lufthansa, British Airways, and low-cost carriers like EasyJet and Ryanair. Bilbao’s Termibus station and Bilbao-Abando Indalecio Prieto Station serve as hubs for regional and long-distance trains. Athletic Club, commonly known as Athletic Bilbao, plays its home games at the San Mamés Stadium. Madrid is home to Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid, with stadiums like the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium and the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium. https://lnkd.in/dy_jnq6i #MadridTourismBoard, #Bilbao, #SpainTourismBoard, #Barcelona, #EasyJet, #Ryanair

Some argue VIP sections enhance experience, while others feel they have gone too far. Rise in VIP sections creates division between VIP and GA attendees. VIP perks like separate entrances and views can lead to feelings of exclusion. LIVE MUSIC IN SE ASIA A succession of top performers touring Southeast Asia is a clear pointer towards the importance of the market for musicians. From top acts like Taylor Swift and Coldplay – with an impending Bruno Mars concert, peppered with niche bands like The Corrs, and a Jazz Festival in the temple city of Jogjakarta, fans are now spoilt for choice when it comes to live shows. A recent study by YouGov reveals that 46% of Indonesians and 37% of Singaporeans have purchased concert tickets in the past two years. In Singapore, the top preference is for concerts of favourite artists, with 55% of respondents favoring these events. This is followed by Broadway or musical theatre concerts, with 22% people showing a significant interest in theatrical performances. In Indonesia, while concerts of favourite artists also top the list at 49%, there is a much stronger preference for local band performances, with 39% of respondents showing interest. This indicates a robust support for domestic talent. Indie artist showcases are also more popular in Indonesia compared to Singapore. 72% Indonesians are willing to travel to another city domestically to watch a concert. Indonesian concert-goers also have a strong preference for VIP and merchandise bundles, reflecting a desire for enhanced experiences and memorabilia. The music events market in Southeast Asia is projected to grow by 2.95% (2024-2028) resulting in a market volume of US$555.80 mn in 2028, according to Statista. Across Asia, the quantum is massive: US$ 4.6 bn. There are many benefits which these concerts bring to the host cities before and during the show periods. Agoda reported an 8.7-fold increase in search for accommodation in Singapore during Coldplay’s concert period, with the surge driven by users in neighbouring countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia. Klook Singapore even launched ‘Experience Packages’, which included two tickets to Taylor Swift’s concert and a night’s stay at one of the over 40 hotels available to choose from. #music #livemusic #southeastasia #concerts #experience #tourism #musictourism https://lnkd.in/g6eBKzmS
