As one of the world’s greatest cultural treasures, Borobudur Temple stands as a testament to Indonesia’s rich heritage and history. But beyond its majestic structure lies a delicate balance—between welcoming millions of global visitors and preserving the sanctity of this UNESCO World Heritage site. This is where effective public policy becomes crucial. Public policies crafted around Borobudur are not just about managing tourism but ensuring that the temple's cultural and spiritual essence remains intact for future generations. These policies must navigate the fine line between promoting economic growth through tourism and safeguarding the temple's integrity. Recent developments in Borobudur highlight how collaborative efforts between government, local communities, and stakeholders can lead to sustainable tourism models. Initiatives like the relocation of vendors to create the Kampung Seni Borobudur are designed not only to preserve the temple’s sacred zones but also to enhance the local economy through arts and culture. As we move forward, the challenge will be to continue fostering innovation in tourism while respecting the cultural landscapes that make places like Borobudur so special. It's a journey that requires thoughtful planning, community engagement, and a deep respect for our shared heritage. This is an exciting moment to witness where the transformation of Borobudur will lead. Let’s join forces to ensure that our treasures become not just destinations, but enduring legacies. #Tourism #PublicPolicy #HeritagePreservation #Borobudur #SustainableTourism #CulturalHeritage #Indonesia

Indonesia has been named the most beautiful country in the world by Forbes. In this ranking, Indonesia triumphed over other world-renowned tourism giants such as New Zealand, Switzerland, France, and many more. Indonesia achieved a natural beauty score of 7.77 out of 10, the highest of any country included in the assessment. In Asia, only two countries made it into the world’s top 10: Indonesia, ranked first globally, and India, in seventh place. In Southeast Asia, Indonesia stands alone in the top 15 worldwide. This title of ‘most beautiful country’ was awarded because, within every 100,000 square kilometres of its area, Indonesia showcases natural wonders like mountain ranges, volcanoes, and tropical rainforests. Not only that, but Indonesia’s seas are adorned with extensive coral reefs. Despite being a tropical country, Indonesia even boasts a glacier on Mount Puncak Jaya in Papua. Indonesia is home to more than 17,000 incredible islands and has a coastline stretching 50,000 kilometres. The country also has numerous popular travel destinations offering breathtaking scenery, including Bali, the tropical rainforests of Sumatra and Kalimantan, and the orangutan sanctuaries in Kalimantan. Additionally, Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stands as one of Indonesia’s natural treasures. Forbes shared this ranking on its website on 22 February 2022, based on a study by Money.co.uk. This study analysed natural wonders across countries, including coral reefs, rainforests, and volcanoes. As stated by Sal Haqqi, the personal finance editor at Money.co.uk, the findings highlighted Indonesia’s unparalleled natural beauty. Indonesia offers a variety of stunning landscapes to explore, from mountain ranges to pristine beaches, making it deserving of the top spot as the world’s most beautiful country. Indonesia is rich with exotic beaches, lush green mountains stretching from north to south, and countless places to explore, each as captivating as Bali, the global icon of natural tourism. In Indonesia, you’ll find remnants of ancient civilisation, carefully preserved at the Komodo National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you can encounter the Komodo dragon. You’ll also find the enchanting islands of Raja Ampat, resembling clusters of green grapes, with their beauty unmatched. Discover the tall and lush tropical forests of Sumatra’s Bukit Barisan, standing like a green army from a mythical land. Explore the tropical rainforests of Kalimantan, crisscrossed by mighty rivers and home to unique biodiversity found nowhere else on earth, including the rare species of orangutans and Mahakam dolphins. Kalimantan’s tropical rainforest is the second-largest in the world after the Amazon in South America. And don’t miss the underwater paradise of Bunaken National Park in North Sulawesi, with its crystal-clear waters and vibrant, colourful fish. https://lnkd.in/gGU_K4gJ

In the midst of meetings with banking institutions and a government ministry, I found myself reflecting on tourism in Yogyakarta (DIY). I decided to write down my thoughts and opinions on the impact and benefits of the new Indonesian president's inauguration. My goal is to foster and spread optimism, especially among my fellow tourism professionals and stakeholders in DIY. I have shared these reflections with a local newspaper to encourage a positive outlook for our tourism industry. #Tourism #Yogyakarta #Indonesia #EconomicDevelopment #NewLeadership

I have mixed feelings about this. When the Minister stated that Bali is not experiencing overtourism, I couldn't fully agree, especially when considering the congested hotspots like Seminyak, Canggu, Kuta, Uluwatu, and Jimbaran, where the overwhelming influx of tourists brings about horrendous traffic conditions. In my opinion, a more fitting title would be "Overtourism in Southern Bali." However, it's crucial to highlight and promote the lesser-known regions of the north, south, and west in a positive light. Bali offers much more than just beach clubs, boutique hotels, shopping malls, and endless rows of trinket shops found in the crowded south. To truly experience Bali's essence, one must venture beyond the heavily touristed areas. It's in these less explored regions where you can immerse yourself in Balinese culture, interact with its people, savor authentic cuisine, and marvel at the untouched natural beauty. This is precisely the mission of Adimelali Bali – to showcase Bali's authentic side, unveil its hidden gems, and advocate for responsible tourism. By promoting these untouched areas, we not only offer travelers a more enriching experience but also contribute to the preservation of Bali's unique heritage and environment.🌿

The 7 Most-Visited Countries In Asia Malaysia 🇲🇾 in 5th spot with 20million visitors. What is your favorite country and what do you love ❤️ about Malaysia? Malaysia is one of the most touristic destinations in Asia. It offers dazzling cityscapes, pristine sandy beaches, lush forests, mouthwatering food markets, excellent infrastructure, affordable shopping, and cultural and religious diversity. Moreover, it houses 20% of the world’s animal species, including more than 860 types of birds, as well as the world’s tallest twin buildings—the 88-story Petronas Towers (9 am to 9 pm; $21.27/adult). Do not limit your visit to its capital city, Kuala Lumpur, though. Gunung Mulu National Park, a rainforest in Malaysian Borneo, is worth the trip for its large bat-filled cave, impressive sandstone and limestone formations, waterfall, and rare orchids. As for the Langkawi archipelago, it’s known for its upscale resorts, diverse flora and fauna, and postcard-perfect beaches https://lnkd.in/gurhrnEf
