Whether loved up or otherwise, there’s no denying that couple power dressing is back. From fan favourites Rihanna and A$AP Rocky to up-and-coming content creators, the fashion game is getting stronger when multiplied by two. According to some, dressing alike is a visual display of emotional solidarity. It’s the universal language of relationship status: matching outfits for the highs and even more coordinated outfits for the lows. Good style is twice as nice when done with a partner in crime. Couples, celebrity and otherwise, are nailing duo dressing and it’s become a performance art. Whether intentional or just accidentally coordinated, dressing like your partner is a trend that’s here to stay. #writer #journo #substack #newsletter #fashion #fashionindustry #fashiontrends #trends #celebrity #coupledressing #contentcreator #fashiontingz https://lnkd.in/eqiKNJ6P

Selena Gomez is officially a billionaire, which raises an important question: Why has Rare Beauty been so successful? IMO, it's not just because of founder-fit or a great product. It's about filling a white space. Rare Beauty works because they saw a sea of sameness in make-up. Other beauty brands are about making people look *perfect*... But RB saw an opportunity to celebrate enhancing your features as an individual. Selena Gomez, a massive advocate for mental health/inclusivity, was the ideal face for the brand... But the brand wouldn't be what it is without a clear swim lane to dominate. I look at 2 other successful celebrity-founded brands, SKIMS and Savage x Fenty. No one was doing basics well and SKIMS saw an opportunity to merge shapewear and basics and own that lane. Savage x Fenty realized no one in the lingerie category (and subsequently makeup) was catering to diverse body types. Rihanna and Kim were the perfect celebrities to found those brands, but the white spaces were already there. Plenty of celebrity-businesses have failed for neglecting differentiation. See: Natalie Portman's shoe line or 50 Cent's headphones Without a clear white space, a well-known spokesperson is not enough. So... in your opinion, which celebrity brands have the best white space? Have any succeeded that you didn't expect? P.S. Why do you think Rare Beauty has been so successful? #brandmarketing #celebritybacked #brandbuilding

The "sexy grotesque" aesthetic is redefining beauty and branding, blending hyper-femininity with distortion. From viral films like *The Substance* to Margiela’s Tabis and Isamaya Ffrench’s bold designs, brands are using absurdism and sensory marketing to stand out in a saturated media landscape. This trend challenges conventions, sparking engagement through subversive, emotional appeals. How can brands embrace this movement to stay relevant? https://lnkd.in/eNZ_PJFK #Marketing #BrandStrategy #FashionTrends #CulturalShifts

I want to dress modestly but it seems so EXTREME?! 🫣 I always felt like modest fashion wasn’t for me and would never even look at modest outfits online. They appeared boring and so out of touch to my lifestyle. So instead, I shopped around mainstream brands and put together my own modest outfits that suited my style and more importantly my personality 💁♀️. I normalised this for so long and didn’t even question why either fashion world didn’t include me. This fusion of mainstream to my modest needs became a style that I eventually had to teach to my daughter and lots of other young adults. I wanted them to feel good about covering up whilst still being able to take part in current trends, and ultimately feel confident amongst your peers. There is a misconception that modesty means you have to cover every inch of skin and enjoy shapeless looks only. This can be very intimidating for anyone wanting to start dressing modestly as it somehow rejects who you are. We need to understand there are various degrees of modesty and no one should be judged by it. In a world where nakedness is celebrated we should empower the mindset of anyone who wants to dress with more coverage without making them feel guilty that’s it’s not enough. No one should be made to feel they have to belong to a box. If you like real chats like this, please connect. This blog and podcasts are all to come 🙌🏼 Ria xx #modest #modestfashion #inclusivebrand
