Understanding DPI: The Key to Crisp Printouts Ever wondered why some prints look sharp and vibrant while others appear pixelated? 🤔 It all comes down to DPI (Dots Per Inch) 🎉 DPI is a measure of image resolution, determining how many dots of ink are printed per inch. A higher DPI generally means a sharper, more detailed image. Key considerations for DPI: ✅ Print size: Larger prints require higher DPI to avoid visible pixelation. ✅ Viewing distance: Closer viewing distances demand higher DPI for optimal clarity. ✅ Content type: Images with fine details (e.g., photos) benefit from higher DPI. #printdesign #graphicdesign #DPI #printquality #designtips #technology

🎨 Have you ever wondered why color looks different from your screen to printed material? RGB (Red, Green, Blue) is primarily used for digital screens, as it combines these three colors of light to create a broad spectrum of hues. CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key/Black) is geared towards print materials, where these four colors are layered to produce various shades and tones. #rgbcmyk #colormodes #rgb #cmyk #printvsdigital #CMYKprinting #RGBcolor #colorprofile

NEW BLOG POST: Image Resolution Explained Did you know that the clarity of your images depends on how many dots or pixels make up the image? When it comes to resolution, it's all about DPI (Dots Per Inch) or PPI (Pixels Per Inch). Digital displays only need 72PPI, but for print, we need 300DPI for sharp, clear images. That's why images can look larger on screens but smaller when printed! Need a quick guide to ensure your images are the right size for both print and digital? Check out our latest blog post to learn more! https://lnkd.in/euaGJwzv #GraphicDesignTips #PrintVsDigital #DPIExplained #ImageQuality

Color in print is complex. Print uses CMYK colors, not RGB like digital. This means careful color management is needed to ensure designs print as intended. Always review print proofs to catch any unexpected color shifts. #ColorInPrint #CMYKDesign #PrintVsDigital

The rather nice P5300 printer...
The Epson P5300/P5370 printer https://lnkd.in/e38469TK I've just finished the [long!] written version of my Epson P5300/5370 review https://lnkd.in/ezSaKTEj Some light reading/viewing for the holiday weekend... Reminded me of how much more work goes into the written reviews than the videos. Time to get back to some photography . The written review has a new [~18min] P5300 review overview video to go with it, as well as all the videos [20+] I produced covering aspects of using the printer. Yes - it's a very nice printer for photos/art Thanks again to Epson UK for lending it to me ;-)

After 𝘆𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 about 𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘆 𝗱𝗘 color differences in print and receiving a nice package, with a large grey top/bottom, I took out my Nix Sensor Ltd. Spectro 2 to check these greys, 𝟭𝟬 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘀. And guess what: within the grey areas, I measured color deviations 𝘂𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝟭,𝟲𝟳 𝗱𝗘𝟬𝟬! For the record: I used three measurements and averaged them (a standard setting in the Nix app). To give you an idea about the size: the grey rectangle is 12 x 19 cm. The package looks really nice, even with a loupe I couldn't detect any significant print issues. 𝗜 𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗻'𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 while handling the package, measuring it, taking a picture. But when looking at the picture: you will see a differences, the right one is darker, due to its curvature and the light falling on it slightly different. Both the camera sensor and my retina receive the same color information. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 - 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 - 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 and says the color is the same… BTW: this kind of devations are normal, as I discussed already in this article: https://lnkd.in/ehZ4YtBN You might want to test it yourself! Check out a print sample with a large even colored area on it, measure multiple spots and compare them. #print #printquality #color #brandcolors #fmcg
