What was 2023 like for clinical research in the Republic of Kazakhstan? During the Year 2023 there were 15 clinical trials initiated in Kazakhstan including local studies. That represents a 25% increase rate in comparison with the previous year when 12 studies were initiated. Most clinical trials conducted in Kazakhstan in the Year 2023 were interventional studies with a 67% market share. At the beginning of 2024, 309 clinical trials started, out of 400 registered - a huge 64% increase on the number of trials which started in 2023. Also, the number of local ethics commission increased from 308 in 2022 to 390 in 2023. (𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦, 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘵 𝘊𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘏𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘑𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘳𝘺 2024 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵). Ukraine has persevered as a top-class clinical trials hub through the most trying times for many reasons including a resilient infrastructure, committed staff, improvements in regulation, cost effectiveness and international collaboration. Here are some key highlights from the latest European Business Association report: 🚀 New trial submissions up 120% in Q1 2024 🏥 349 new trial sites approved since May 2022 ✅ 100% of surveyed sites adapted to current conditions 🌟 94% of sites report stable or increasing patient numbers Leading global sponsors are recognizing Ukraine's potential: ● 33 international sponsors have expanded their trials to new sites ● 75 new trials have been approved since May 2022 The regulatory environment is also improving: ● Faster approval timelines (30-day evaluation period) ● New legislation harmonizing with EU standards ● Improved logistics and monitoring capabilities Ukraine's clinical research ecosystem is proving its ability to deliver high-quality data and ensure patient safety, even in challenging circumstances. This very comprehensive effort will be taking place in Astana, 🇰🇿 Kazakhstan, on April 19 and April 20, 2024. The conference aims to foster collaboration in #HTA across Eastern Europe 🌍 and Central Asia 🌏, with the theme "HTA as a Tool to Determine Priorities for Healthcare Development and Funding." It invites participation from researchers, health economists, policy experts, and all individuals keen on advancing HTA and fostering efficient health systems. The main conference will be followed by an exclusive Policy Dialogue on April 20, 2024, accessible by invitation only.
