Bipin Shah, former managing partner at Titan Capital, has announced the launch of his new micro-VC firm, Zeropearl, with a clear and founder-centric investment approach. Zeropearl focuses on a “founder only” thesis, according to Shah’s LinkedIn post. The firm will lead investments at the friends & family or pre-seed stage, acting as the first significant backer for startups. Zeropearl is sector-agnostic but has a particular inclination toward Consumer (D2C/B2C) and SaaS/GenAI sectors. For SaaS companies, Zeropearl is open to pre-revenue investments, while consumer products need to show at least Rs 1 lakh in monthly revenue. The investment process is designed to be decisive and efficient, with founders receiving either a “No” or a “Yes” with a term sheet within seven days. Investments are expected to close within one month. Zeropearl plans to make 12-15 selective investments a year, aiming to hold an 8% stake in each portfolio company. Beyond funding, Zeropearl offers active support to its portfolio companies, focusing on growth and preparing for a strong Series A round within 15 months. Sanjeev Bikhchandani, the founder of Info Edge, observes that the market is hesitant to invest in startups that are operating at a loss. Sanjeev Bikhchandani, the founder of Info Edge, emphasized the ongoing caution among investors towards startups that are not yet profitable unless they demonstrate a clear path to profitability. Recent years have seen a string of underwhelming IPOs from such companies, leading analysts to scrutinize their valuations and performance. Bikhchandani expressed skepticism about the public market's willingness to embrace loss-making startups, particularly after the market correction in 2022, unless they can offer a transparent projection of future profits over the next few years. #goals#inspirational#inspire#quoteoftheday#positivevibes#life#believe#entrepreneur#happiness#selflove#lifestyle#quote#successquotes#yourself#bhfyp#loveyourself#instadaily#photooftheday#instagood #thoughts #startup#startupindia #startupnews #startupindianews #startiyapa # https://lnkd.in/gJpFi2wu

Positive Signs for Early-Stage Funding Our co-founder and CEO, Neeraj Tyagi, was recently featured alongside other industry leaders in the Financial Express (India) article "Angel rounds see uptick in Jan-Feb". Neeraj shares his insights on the encouraging trends in early-stage funding and the expected shift in VC deployment: "There has been a lot of action in the last two months, both in early stage as well as in Series A and B," he pointed out. The fund has made six investments so far this year, while four of our growth-stage startups were able to close their funding rounds during this time. This positive activity aligns with our expectations, as many VC firms raised significant capital last year and are now actively deploying those funds. As Neeraj highlights, the typical 8-10 year investment horizon for VC funds creates pressure to allocate capital effectively: "With a lot of dry powder available, it was expected that at some point the tide will change and the money that these VCs have already raised, they will start deploying." We believe this trend is likely to continue, creating a more favorable environment for entrepreneurs seeking early-stage investment. 🦄🦄Time to rename the unicorn?🦄🦄 The more unicorn startup valuations we see, the less special each unicorn becomes – and the sillier the term "unicorn" sounds. So what do we do? The sensible answer is just raise the valuation bar to like $10B. The answer I offer you, however, is to come up with a load of dumb alternative names. You’re welcome. #unicorn #startups https://lnkd.in/eM-QjqPu
The billion-dollar question: What do we call unicorns now they’re no longer that rare?

14 Indian startups raised a remarkable $362.94 million between October 26 and November 02. But there’s one common thread among all these ventures - they captured investor interest early. 𝑰𝒏𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒕𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒚 𝒔𝒖𝒑𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔 𝒅𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔. Here’s why it makes all the difference: 💡 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 - Early investors bring more than funding—they’re mentors. They guide strategy, offer insights, and help shape your path to market. Think of them as partners invested in your growth. 💡 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐭 - Start small, scale smart. Early investments show potential and attract larger backers down the line. 💡 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫-𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 - Early investors help you stay adaptable and focused on customer needs. Avoid overbuilding—listen, learn, and refine. Investors look for startups that evolve with purpose. 💡 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 - Early investors expand your network, connecting you with industry players, future funding, and strategic partners. Each connection opens doors, pushing your startup forward. With the right support, you can build not only for today but for a lasting impact. Start now! #IndianStartups #StartupFunding #InvestorInsights

What do Sequoia, Accel, Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed, Nexus, Khosla Ventures, etc. have in common? All #founders want them on their cap table. They are marquee global funds with powerful brands. When they invest in your startup, it signals to the larger world that you are doing something great. It's a huge validation. They also help you get more co-investors because all other investors want to invest with them. With Sequoia on their cap tables, most founders believe their funding worries are over. However, the most well-known global VC brands might not be the best choice for early-stage #startups. More than the cheque size or the valuation number, you should go with investors with whom you would like to work for years. The investor is your partner. You want a guy who can help you with good advice and network. You want someone who can spend hours with you discussing your product, GTM or hiring. In the early stages, you want investors who give you more than just money. You want investors who have time for you. Hence, smaller and more dynamic VC funds can be better for your startup. They are hungrier and more driven to create a name for themselves. They have time for you and help you when you need them. They don't write a $2M cheque and forget about it because they manage billions of dollars of #VentureCapital. Unlike Sequoia or Accel, newer VC funds can't sit on their laurels because they are nobodies. They are also a startup. They have to create a name for themselves. They want to become the next Accel. These new VC Funds are the perfect investors for you. Tomorrow at 16:00 India time, we are doing a LinkedIn webinar on how startups based in #India can use London as a base to expand to the European markets. Sandeep and I will ask Divya Bajaj, VP at London & Partners, about the pros and cons of using London as a springboard for your growth. The registration link is in the comments.

For the last 24 months, the default way startups were exposed to venture capital and its effects were, in many ways, paused. Further, VC funding for the first nine months of this year was down 7% over a similar period last year, per Tracxn. But now, as VCs get back to investing after a "small reset", some changes seem inevitable. What are they? In this week's episode of Two by Two, hosts Rohin Dharmakumar and Praveen Gopal Krishnan are joined by two founders-turned-VCs to discuss the role VCs play in the startup world today. This episode features: • Manav Garg—founder of Eka Software; co-founder of Together Fund • Rajiv Srivatsa—co-founder of Urban Ladder; founding partner at Antler India Click the link in the comments. ----------- #TheKen #TwobyTwo #VC #VentureCapital #VCFunding #VCNews #Startup #StartupNews
