Mayor Asisaun Toovak, Utqiagvik, Alaska 🇺🇲 Funded by the EU 🇪🇺 , the Arctic Urban and Regional Cooperation #AURC network 🚀 includes 15 cities and towns from Canada, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the US to address shared sustainable urban and regional development challenges. While it is the first initiative of its kind in the Arctic region, the network has a solid foundation building on the vast experience of EU international urban cooperation programmes namely the IURC and URBACT. 🏘 The Local Urban Plans will shape the future of most Greek municipalities for decades to come. 🌎 🌱 CIVINET Greece-Cyprus is proud to be involved in three of these (Argos-Mycenae, Chalkida-Lelantio, and Fyli), with our team leader serving as the Sustainable Mobility Expert, official advisor to the consortium, a collaboration between Doxiadis and Nikos Stappas offices. 👩🏫 To this end, we participated in the highly successful Phase A public consultation events on September 11th and 13th, held in Chalkida and Argos, respectively. The aim for Vordingborg Municipality as a Host Partner of Connected River is to obtain attractiveness and new interest in the pilot areas which hopefully will result in new development, more activity and new recreational use of the southern waterfronts of the city. Depopulation is a major territorial challenge of the #DanubeRegion that demands a comprehensive long-term policy response, and it is challenging for rural local communities to effectively approach the issue while struggling with limited governance capacities.   The objective of the recently approved Interreg Danube Region Programme #RurALL project is to develop a governance model on addressing depopulation in rural areas by improving the planning, management, and decision-making/collaborative capacities of rural communities in exploiting the potential of deteriorating dwellings.   The project consortium joins 14 partners and 7 associated strategic partners that are inspired by the New European Bauhaus that promotes an integrated approach and consequently involvement of different types of stakeholders/experts.   Looking forward to the #RurALL journey…   #RurALL #Depopulation #DanubeRegion #NewEuropeanBauhaus

The destinations were chosen based on topicality, unique experiences, 'WOW FACTOR', and commitment to sustainability, community and diversity. “Enigmatic” East Anglia ranked at number eight on the best regions list and was the only area of the UK to be featured. Minsmere was highlighted as a “must see”.
