"It feels like being home" 🏡 💗 Julia Hanson, Luleå (Sweden) 🇸🇪 "We live in thriving Arctic communities and it is really important that we talk together..." Patti Bruns, Secretary-General, Arctic Mayors' Forum "I think it is very important that Arctic communities have a say, that Arctic communities are at the same table..." Mayor Asisaun Toovak, Utqiagvik, Alaska 🇺🇲 Funded by the EU 🇪🇺 , the Arctic Urban and Regional Cooperation #AURC network 🚀 includes 15 cities and towns from Canada, Finland, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and the US to address shared sustainable urban and regional development challenges. While it is the first initiative of its kind in the Arctic region, the network has a solid foundation building on the vast experience of EU international urban cooperation programmes namely the IURC and URBACT. We have big hopes and aspirations for how this network will support the sharing of knowledge and peer-to-peer learning to help Arctic cities and towns move towards being more socially sustainable, have greater levels of inclusive economic development and strengthen the local implementation of the #greentransition #SDGs 🌍 🌳 🤝 We have a stellar group of Arctic cities and towns engaged in the network - Bodø (Norway), Fairbanks North Star Borough (USA), Gällivare (Sweden), Harstad (Norway), Kópavogur (Iceland), Luleå (Sweden), Oulu (Finland), Rovaniemi (Finland), Salla (Finland), Sermersooq (Greenland), Tromsø (Norway), Umeå (Sweden), Utqiaġvik (USA), Whitehorse (Canada), Yellowknife (Canada) #eucommission #eupolicy #eugreendeal Video credit: @Ramón Zamora Martínez
