Younger generations don’t care about tax breaks because of donations. If you want to attract donors who are millennials or younger, explaining tax benefits is a huge turn off. They don’t care about what they are going to get back; they care about the impact their donation will create. Rethink your communication if you are still using that messaging to younger generations.

This year, we’ve seen lives transformed: 3,500 students supported, 1,300 therapists empowered, 850 educators trained, and an impact felt in 17 countries. Behind each number is a story—a child finding confidence, a therapist bringing hope, an educator changing lives. None of this would be possible without people like you. If you or someone you know is considering where to direct year-end donations, we’d be honored if you’d keep NILD in mind. We know not everyone is in a position to give right now, and sharing our story (and yours!) is just as powerful. Learn more about how donations drive change here: nild.org/donors

Studies have shown that donors give more when they are provided with information about previous donations or the average donation amount. This phenomenon, known as the "goal gradient" in helping behavior, highlights the importance of communicating progress towards fundraising goals to donors. 💡 By incorporating a goal meter into your donation form, you can leverage the goal gradient effect to inspire donors to contribute towards reaching your fundraising targets and making a meaningful impact for your cause. 💪
