Admittedly my photo game wasn’t on point here, fortunately the living legends Kevin Wheeler & Trevor Vas (and the entire ATC - Talent Acquisition Events & Media team) were. Congratulation on a wonderfully organised event – and a huge thanks for building a platform where we can share ideas and insights to deliver better talent outcomes into the future. That same future is inching closer than most would care to admit - and it’s not slowing down. Talent functions of all shapes and sizes will need to act smarter, faster and more decisively to drive innovation and supercharge their practices through the tools that are coming online, and those already available. The alternative is not an appealing one, and those who stay ahead of the curve, build a strong case, secure the funding and dare to experiment will be in the driver’s seat to deliver value to both talent and business. The rest… well… Also – a huge shout out to Jo Vohland and Karen Ly for their formidable hosting both on and off stage.

Surrounding myself with the best of the best in the industry, I am reminded of the importance of surrounding oneself with clever, innovative people. As Seeff celebrates its 60th anniversary, this milestone is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation. The awards ceremony highlighted this commitment, as we acknowledged many remarkable individuals for their long-term dedication—10, 15, 20, and even 30 years of service. A couple of GREAT definitions of AN EXPERIENCE: I recently got my new issue of SEAT Magazine, published by President Amanda Verhoff and the team at ALSD, an Association that collectively is focused, among other things, on ELEVATING THE EXPERIENCE at our favorite sports and entertainment venues. In this issue, beside enjoying the stories and photos of winners in the different “Best of” categories associated with the stadiums and arenas, what caught my eye were answers in the Q&A section from a couple of long-term veterans of the industry. I thought the quotes well-worth sharing as applicable and a useful reminder to any who host visitors to their 'house of business' and strive to standout from other (competitors) with a similar offering: Q – How do you define an Experience? A - Annemarie (Anne) Hastings – a 20-yr veteran w/ the San Francisco Giants: “An Experience evokes a feeling that makes you want to share it with others. (...)It leaves an impression... creates a memory. And stays with you long after a greeter calls you by name.. (…...)..... A - Jeff Morander long-time executive in the NHL: An experience is an encounter with an event where you not only observe, but also feel the event. My takeaway: It's all about FEELINGS wo-o-o Feelings,........... (but, no, not the 70's hit song by Morris Albert). Rather it's about making that game/appointment/visit/trip/stay/flight an experience that will remain a special memory for them, and about which they will 1) want to tell their friends, and 2) return again). It involves connecting with Guest on an EMOTIONAL level far beyond and much deeper than merely at a rational, transactional level. THAT is an ELEVATED EXPERIENCE. THAT is HOSPITALITY …...... Succintly put, Annamarie and Jeff. Well said. #hospitality
