The minimalist approach to explosive Amazon growth (...less is more) Amazon Growth 101: Simplicity always wins. Don’t overcomplicate the process. Don’t focus on every tactic. Don't aim to be unique in every aspect. Instead: 1. Have a great Amazon listing 2. Drive traffic to that listing 3. Build a loyal customer base That’s it. - Optimize your product title, bullet points, and description. - Drive traffic via PPC ads and social media. - Follow up with customers to increase repeat purchases. A great Amazon listing, traffic, and repeat customers. This is the key to your Amazon growth. Don't overthink it. Stick to the basics. ✅ Repost ♻️ if you agree with this. Here are a few reasons why Amazon marketplace sellers are bad search fund acquisition targets: 1/ Platform Risk: The business is entirely dependent on Amazon's platform. Changes in Amazon's search algorithm, fee structure, or competition could tank the business overnight. It's the opposite of a competitively defensible business. 2/ Low Barriers to Entry: Most Amazon products are a commodity. If this seller is successful, new competitors can easily emerge. Without proprietary products or a unique brand, it's a race to the bottom on price and a losing game long-term. 3/ Limited Growth Levers: Growing an Amazon seller would likely require heavy paid advertising spend on Amazon's platform to maintain market share vs. competitors. There are few other levers to pull to unlock growth. 4/ Weak Customer Relationships: Sales come through Amazon, not the company's website. As a result, the seller has little direct access to customers to build brand loyalty. Most sales are likely driven by Amazon search result placement and price, not brand affinity. 5/ Operationally Intensive: As an e-commerce retailer, the business likely requires a lot of working capital to maintain inventory, especially if using Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). Expect ongoing cash flow management challenges. 6/ Questionable Economic Model: Many Amazon products are bulky but relatively low-cost. Shipping fees likely eat most of the margins. The product category doesn't align well with key e-commerce value drivers like high purchase frequency, premium pricing, or subscription potential. 7/ Unattractive Exit Options: The business would likely be unattractive to strategic acquirers. Its value is mainly tied to the Amazon seller account, inventory, and supplier relationships. Without a strong brand or other differentiators, it's basically a purely financial asset. Ultimately, there are few ways to build a truly valuable standalone company with Amazon marketplace sellers. The core elements of what makes a great business are missing. For me, that means: opportunities where you can own the customer relationship, build a strong brand, develop proprietary products, and expand through multiple channels.

Growing an Amazon brand is easy if you know the right strategies. But brutal when you lack the expertise and resources. You end up in a cycle of: - Struggling to optimize listings and ads - Losing sales to competitors - Risking account health One of the problems I needed to fix. I like to connect it with running a marathon. If you run casually, you can go at your own pace without a specific plan. But if you're running to win, you need the right training, nutrition, and mindset. Growing on Amazon is the same. You are doing it with profitability and brand integrity in mind. The easiest way to go about it: 1. Optimize your listings for discoverability 2. Implement a data-driven PPC strategy 3. Ensure seamless inventory management 4. Maintain account health and compliance 5. Continuously monitor and adapt to trends If you don't know how to scale on Amazon and have limited resources or the wrong approach, it leads to stagnant sales and lost opportunities. Do a thorough analysis of your current performance. Then develop a comprehensive growth strategy. 50% is having the right plan. 50% is executing it effectively. - PS - Want to grow your ecommerce brand on Amazon? Selling on Amazon is DEAD. If your process looks like this: 1. Find a product because you 'think' it's good 2. Take a few plain images and list the product 3. Spend 1000s on PPC to drive traffic 4. Get barely any conversions 5. Repeat If you want a sustainable 8-figure Amazon business. Your process should look more like this: 1. Research historical data 2. Find a product that has done well, but has flaws 3. Take images and videos of the product 4. Create infographics and edit the video 5. List the product with good SEO and keywords 6. Ensure a good conversion rate 7. Drive traffic with PPC and optimise That's the simple version of the blueprint that I've used. And it works. ↓ P.S. what other steps can you think of that lead to a successful Amazon business?
