I have some issues with this article: - the average consumer pays around 37,37 Cent/kWh (verivox) or 41,35 ct/kWh (BDEW), I pay around 35 ct/kWh, the 25 ct are for new contracts but only about 20% of people change their provider. - its a plug in pv system containing a standard (!) or flexible solar panel - very often the same ones used in rooftop installations - and a microinverter, that has to full fill certain specifications to use it for plug in. The use of panel as a synonym for systems is a little bit confusing in my ear. - 500.000 systems are registered with the Network Authority but we believe about 2 Mio are actually in operation - Only stupid people pay 200 EUR for a panel (or do they mean system) at Obi, you can get them from 66 EUR + 20 EU delivery from specialized shops. Inverters are about 100, the cheapest hooks 20 EUR per panel. -  “I am now completely hooked on how I can produce energy from the sun,” he said.“It has become like taking a drug” - the article is a little bit confusing as Melissa Eddy uses plug in panel and system as synonyms But its good to read in the NYT:  “I am now completely hooked on how I can produce energy from the sun,” he said.“It has become like taking a drug”
