As a #BusinessOwner, building your #SalesTeam is a crucial task. While there's a lot to manage during the hiring process, it's essential not to lose sight of a few key factors. One of the most important is hiring the right person: someone who will represent your company in the best light possible. Here are five non-negotiable traits I look for: 1. Communication Skills: #Salespeople frequently interact with clients, so excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Ideally, these should be complemented by a professional appearance and positive body language. 2. Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to handle unexpected challenges and identify areas for improvement is crucial in sales. 3. Negotiation Skills: Since negotiation is integral to sales, hiring someone with strong negotiation skills will help them align with your company's values and make effective decisions, even with tough negotiators. 4. Trustworthiness, Empathy, and Relationship-Building: These traits not only reflect well on your company but are also vital for making clients feel comfortable and forming genuine connections. 5. Desire to Learn and Grow: It’s important to hire someone knowledgeable but also eager to continue learning and improving. What other qualities would you add to this list? #OLG #SellingWithPresence

Dear Recruiters, Sales jobs are not mysterious. When you post your job ad, please be clear about the empty position. Avoid mumbo jumbo if you want to invite the best candidates: 👉 Sales manager ≠ sales representative 👉 Business development director ≠ business development representative 👉 Sales director ≠ key account manager 👉 Channel project manager ≠ channel sales representative 👉 Project manager ≠ sales person Please be clear. It is not hard at all: When someone is looking for new business at new accounts = business development representative ✔ When someone is responsible for customers at an assigned territory = area sales manager ✔ When someone is responsible for customer loyalty and expansion = account manager ✔ When someone is responsible for a few big customers (not more than 20), their loyalty and expansion = key account manager ✔ When someone is responsible for a few large customers (not more than 3), loyalty and expansion = strategic account manager ✔ When someone is responsible for general sales tasks = sales representative ✔ When someone is responsible for managing field sales team = sales manager ✔ When someone is responsible for managing sales function = sales director / chief sales officer /VP of sales ✔ Clearly defined sales roles enable the company: - to attract the right talent - to set clear expectations for sellers and Clearly defined sales roles are also prerequisites for designing a compensation plan that will motivate sellers ❗ ==== If you like the post, don’t forget to 👍 it and 👉 FOLLOW ME. #salescompensation #salesmanagement #recruiter #talent

Transitioning from a sales role to a recruiter's position definitely brings about a significant shift in dynamics. Moving from a team-oriented environment to working independently can feel quite different. In sales, you're often collaborating closely with colleagues, bouncing ideas off each other, and sharing successes and challenges as a team. However, as a recruiter, much of your work involves independent tasks like sourcing candidates, screening resumes, and conducting interviews. Moreover, the nature of communication changes too. In sales, you might be accustomed to freely expressing your thoughts and feelings to clients and colleagues. However, as a recruiter, there's a greater emphasis on professionalism and discretion. Every word you say carries weight, especially during interviews or negotiations, so it's natural to feel more cautious and thoughtful about what you communicate. It's true that success can sometimes feel isolating. As you climb the ladder of achievement, the pool of individuals who can relate to your experiences might indeed become smaller. But remember, even at the top, there are opportunities for connection and collaboration, whether it's through networking with peers in your industry or mentoring others who are on their own journey to success. Ultimately, while the transition may feel strange at first, embracing these changes and adapting your skills to the new role will lead to growth and fulfillment in your career as a recruiter. I saw an organization was hiring a Account Executive / Partner Manager and Recruiter in the same role recently. If you do this, it tells me you don't know about either Sales or Partner Management. Sales done well is a full time job that is measured along the sales process with high efficiency. The best sales people do not do this as a "side job". Partner development and management is also one that is not done "half time". If you commit to creating a partner network, your potential partners will quickly see the importance you give to their effort if you have someone with a dual role looking after them. The only one who benefits from the role is the sales leader that can blame poor sales performance, poor partner recruitment and hide behind metrics that point fingers in different directions. Hire 2 people with 2 clear mandates and see who executes their job. #sales #salesleader #salescoaching #saleshire

Competency & Behaviour are the key measurements when recruiting, we all know that! In sales the behavioural aspect is of higher value initially, a structured approach, the ability to plan, drive, determination, focus etc.... These are the transferable skills in the main. Competence is more balanced, of course 'must have's' are the ability to structure a value proposition, diligence in reporting and CRM activity, thorough research, negotiation and, and, and..... BUT, product knowledge, processes, systems and the like can be delivered against whatever the industry. A genuinely good salesperson or sales leader has a valuable transferable skill set. So if you're looking for a change in industry or a variance in the same industry, but not career, take the time to look through our vacancies, there might be something there to reinvigorate you!! #sales #businessdevelopment #accountmanagement #salesleader #salesmanager #newbusiness #salesroles
