If you’ve ever been in traffic near a tractor-trailer, as most of us have, you’ve probably seen trucks bearing sharp, pointed spikes sticking out of the truck’s wheel hubs. These may be made of metal or sometimes plastic attachments, and can often seem intimidating. They’ve also stirred up quite a lot of curiosity and concern among other drivers. But appearances can be deceiving which leaves many to wonder: Are truck spikes actually dangerous, or are they simply a flashy accessory? To answer that question, let’s dive into the details to understand what these spikes are, what they’re used for, and whether they pose any real danger to other vehicles or pedestrians. #TruckSafetty #TruckSpikes #LawGroup https://lnkd.in/eENMuSY6

What causes semi-trailer crashes? There are many reasons why large trucks crash. The possibilities range from truck driver fatigue to other drivers on the road. Loading issues can also cause crashes: Cargo that is not properly secured can shift and lose balance. Shifting cargo can make the truck harder to maneuver and operate, and can even cause jackknifing and rollovers. Overloaded trucks carry too much weight, and tires can blow out from the heavy load, causing the driver to lose control and potentially hit other vehicles. It takes longer to stop, so it can result in a fatal rear-end collision. Unbalanced truckloads can also be dangerous. This can make one side of the truck much heavier than the other, and if the weight fluctuates widely, the trailer can become unbalanced. This can lead to disaster. #SemiTruckAccident #TruckingSafety #RoadSafety #TruckSafetyTips #TransportSafety

Myths vs. Facts for Safety Belt Use It is very important to always buckle your safety belt. It saves lives, prevents serious injury to a driver and other participants in traffic and it takes only a few seconds. Myth #1: Wearing a safety belt is optional. Fact: Buckling up is required by law. Commercial vehicle drivers are required to buckle up because it is crucial in preventing crash-related injuries or fatalities of the driver and other road users. Myth #2: Escaping from burning or submerged vehicle is less possible if buckled up. Fact: Wearing a safety belt prevents you from getting knocked unconscious, improving the chances of escape. Myth #3: Safety belts are unnecessary in semi-trucks. Fact: According to FMSCA, 669 semi-truck drivers died in crashes in 2021; 31% of those were not wearing a safety belt. Myth #4: Safety belts are not necessary at lower speeds. Fact: Driving at lower speed is not an excuse for not wearing a safety belt. Driver can get seriously hurt if not wearing a seatbelt even if the speed is as low as 30 mph. Myth #5: Good truck drivers don’t need to wear safety belts. Fact: Good truck drivers usually have no collisions or violations. However, they can get into an accident caused by another driver, bed weather or some mechanical failure. In those situations, wearing a seatbelt prevents injuries and fatalities. ____________________________________ 🌐www.fastactiontrucking.com ☎️ 708-588-9820 📧 hr.fastactiontrucking.com #safety #seatbelt #buckleup #truckdrivers #trucking #drayagecarrier #drayagetrucking #otr #regional #transportation #shipping #containerdrayage

Replacing semi-truck tires is crucial for maintaining safety, performance, and fuel efficiency. Maintaining good tire health not only ensures safety but also improves fuel efficiency and overall vehicle performance. In the U.S., the legal minimum tread depth for semi-truck tires is 2/32 of an inch. This applies to all tires on the truck, including those on the drive axle, steering axle, and trailer. However, many safety experts suggest replacing tires when they reach around 4/32 of an inch to ensure better traction and performance, particularly in adverse weather conditions. __________________________________ Follow us for more useful safety tips, job opportunities, and the latest transportation updates. ☎️ 708-588-9820 📧 hr@fastactiontrucking.com 🌐 www.fastactiontrucking.com #chicagointermodaltrucking #trucking #transportationservices #truckdrivers #intermodaltransport #drayagecarrier #regional #otr #treaddepth #tiretread
