Earlier this week, the FMCSA published a notice indicating that it intends to move forward with changes to its Crash Preventability Determination Program (CPDP). Most notably, the agency intends to add four new crash types to the program's eligibility guide, as follows: • Crashes where the CMV was struck on the side by a motorist traveling in the same direction. • Incidents involving motorists entering the roadway from private driveways or parking lots. • Crashes caused by motorists who lost control of their vehicles, with police reports documenting the loss of control. • Any other crash type where video evidence demonstrates the sequence of events, offering broader applicability for various scenarios.. These will be welcomed changes to fleets and others who utilize the CPDP and have been critical of its limitations for the past several years. For more details on the changes, including their effective date, check out our recent article on the topic here: https://lnkd.in/g2xrdswu #trucking #truckingindustry #dotcompliance #trucksafe
These should have been a part of it from the beginning.

5dI think #21 will help motivate companies without dash cameras to invest especcially if they had that crash that could have been data q'd. Now comes the hard part of making sure the video captures the sequences of events leading up to the crash.
