It was Mother's Day🌸 and scrambling to make it special, I decided to order her favorite meal from Zomato 🍱. As I went through the checkout process, a delightful surprise popped up. An AI generated personalised video of a bollywood celebrity wishing Happy Mother's Day with a sweet message. And, while I was not sure how special this could feel but still went ahead since it was complimentary, I was surprised to see how my mom, who is not really a big bollywood fan, shared it with her friends and on social media and how all of them were delighted. The daughter and the marketer in me, both will say, it was a stroke of marketing genius. What points did it tick right? ✅Generational Sentiment & Targeting: It cleverly targeted a multi-generational audience, leveraging nostalgia, personalization, and a touch of technological novelty to achieve a key objective: encouraging Indian mothers to embrace food ordering. ✅Bridging the Gap: The campaign also addressed a potential barrier for older generations – encouraging them to explore the convenience of food delivery services. By using trusted faces like Vidya Balan, the campaign fostered a sense of comfort and familiarity, making the concept of AI-powered greetings less intimidating. ✅The Power of Personalization and Emotional Connection: The personalized greetings resonated with users, creating a special emotional connection on Mother's Day, leveraging positive feelings to influence purchasing decisions. ✅ Standing Out From the Crowd: In a crowded marketing landscape, personalization cuts through the noise. Zomato's campaign offered a unique experience that users were likely to share and remember. ✅Overcoming Apprehension: For some Indian mothers, the concept of AI might be unfamiliar. This campaign, by introducing AI in a positive and relatable context to spark curiosity and reduce apprehension towards using the Zomato app. ✅Tech-Savvy Image: The campaign also positions Zomato at the forefront of technological innovation, potentially influencing users who perceive tech-adoption as a positive brand attribute So many wins in one instance of Occasion-based marketing, someone's really doing things right. Btw.. wishing all the Mothers a belated Happy Mother's Day 😊 #mothersday #marketing #zomato #occasionmarketing #productmarketing #GenAI #techmarketing

I think this might be my favourite Brand Video this year and I feel it is only going to get better. Seven years ago, I created a Mother’s Day video for BlueStone.com that garnered over half a million views. However, in the subsequent years, a flood of similar videos flooded the internet for various occasions. Most had that slice-of-life videos tugged at our heartstrings, resonating with the target audience and trying to become share-worthy content. Interestingly, this emotional approach seems to have faded away. Observations on Current Trends: 1. Genre Shift:The videos we see today take a different approach. They lean toward satire, reminiscent of SNL sketches. The comedy genre itself has evolved. 2. Changing Format: Video formats have transformed significantly. No longer confined to just vertical or horizontal orientations, they now employ quick cuts, camera moves and transitions aimed to hold viewers’ attention for longer periods. 2. Easter Eggs and Pop Culture References: Many modern videos include clever nods to pop culture. These references resonate with the target audience. Unexpected celebrity appearances—whether from the current scene or the past, sometimes with a dash of nostalgia. I recall my mother struggling to understand the quirky “Bingo Mad Angles” ads years ago. I wonder how she will react to this one. But Zomato, great video!

Everyone wants to do marketing like Zomato, but only a few brands are ready to give their competitors the limelight, as Samay Raina did by wearing a t-shirt in a previous roast video. In India, I think no brands are ready to show their competitors in their show or advertisement. So, if you want to get the limelight, you need to be ready to make jokes about your brand first, so it can relate to the audience and build trust. Deepinder Goyal a true leader and Sahibjeet Singh Sawhney a great #marketer of online brand presence. #zomatorocks #zomatomarketing
Our Marketing and Legal teams have a very cordial relation 😘 ❤️ Zomato Birthday Bumps | 𝐒𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐣𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐝𝐢'𝐬 roast.

Hats off to Zomato for always making me chuckle with their funny notifications! It's like they've found the secret recipe to turn advertising into a comedy show. Sometimes their messages are so convincing that I forget I'm not actually hungry and end up ordering anyway – talk about a magical illusion! But hold on, let's not let these pop-ups become our food guides. Sure, they're entertaining, but we shouldn't blindly follow them, right? They're like the fun friend giving advice , listen to the wisdom but don't take it too seriously!😂 By the way, kudos to Zomato's ad team ,they're killing it! Instead of just swiping away boring notifications, we actually read and ponder over them. And if not, at least we get a good laugh out of it, right? btw, What's the quirkiest notification you've ever received from Zomato? P.S Here is mine! #advertising #unique #stratégie #review #funny

Zomato's new campaign: '𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗶 𝗭𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗼, 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗸𝗼 𝗿𝗼𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗼' This campaign puts Zomato way ahead in the competition, even before it started. The touch of comedy and patriotism was a perfect blend. In this festive season campaign, Zomato is not just unique, but it lights up the spirit, quite literally. #marketing #adcampaign #adstrategy #mithaizomatokarodeshkoroshankaro #zomato
