When you ask the interviewer what they love about working at the company and this is the answer... 🚩Other red flags: -"Work hard, play hard" We're going to work you to the bone during business hours but we'll also take over your social life with mandatory events after work too. -"We're like a family here" A dysfunctional family with no sense of boundaries. Expect guilt trips when you try to maintain work-life balance. -"We wear many hats" We're understaffed and you'll be doing the job of three people. By the way, are you a good juggler? -"Fast-paced environment" Anarchy reigns, bring a helmet. -"Competitive salary" But I can't give you the range until you've sunk 10 hours into this process. Surprise! It's less than your requirements. --- Remember, transparency in the hiring process benefits everyone. If you actually have a "family-like" or "work hard, play hard" culture, that's really cool. You're going to have to prove it though because too many organizations use the buzzwords and don't back it up.
