As the new year kicks off, we are celebrating $1,000,000 in community wealth generated through our Village Savings & Loan Association program. Since our program started 5 years ago, our farmers have met weekly in their communities to save and lend the earnings from their farms to one another - reinvesting in expanding their farms, starting a side business, or education for their children and family members. Despite a pandemic, climate change, and an inflation crisis, our farmers continued to show up for themselves and each other, growing savings and lending by double digits year over year. This milestone is a testament to power of community and consistency - we’re so proud of our farmers and our field team, and we can’t wait to share how these numbers and this community grows in 2025!
