Why did I launch a company to help family businesses? Well, I was a part of one for many years. Business has been in my family since the 1950s–when my grandfather purchased the company that would become Royal Cup, Inc. It was an honor to serve as the President of CEO of the company from 2014 to 2020, helping usher in its next phase of growth. Now, I want to help other family businesses. Because while family businesses serve as the economic backbone of our country… That doesn’t mean they don’t have their own challenges. However, they DON’T have to figure everything out on their own. As an Independent Board Director, I help family businesses with an outside perspective—based on first-hand experience—to navigate things like: - Strategy and governance - Succession planning - Helping leadership stay accountable to the strategic plan - Liaising with shareholders and the executive team During my Free Alignment Calls, we outline how we can help you, too, usher in your next phase of growth. Want to know how family businesses blend personal relationships with business roles? Through ownership! The right mix keeps it running. Every family business has these five kinds of ownership roles. Let’s break it down: 1/ Visionaries → The founders—the ones who started it all. They set the company’s values, culture, and long-term goals. For them, it’s not about money; it’s about legacy. 2/ The Investors → The shark tanks of the family, who are focused on maximizing returns and business growth. 3/ Active Decision-Makers → Actively involved in running the business — from management roles to strategic decisions. They help carry the legacy forward while driving innovation. 4/ Next-Generation Successors → Trained to take over the legacy by developing leadership skills and preparing to guide the business into the next chapter. 5/ Non-Family Executives → Sometimes, the best person for the job is outside the family tree. Non-family executives bring fresh perspectives and professional expertise, helping balance family dynamics with business needs. Here’s the kicker: Each ownership role sustains and contributes to the company’s success. Everyone matters! P.S. Which role do you play in your family business? Share below!

Have a #strongfoundation Let’s discuss something that doesn’t get enough attention: #foundations. We all admire the finished product—the sleek design of a building, the shiny achievements in our careers, and the success stories we post online. But no one talks about the foundation, the unseen structure that holds everything up. Come to think about it—what happens to a building with a weak foundation when a storm hits? It crumbles. And isn’t that true for our careers and lives too? Getting caught up in what people can see is easy, but what really matters is what holds everything together. The late nights refining your skills and the quiet moments spent recalibrating your goals are your foundation. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s essential. Without a solid base, even the greatest accomplishments can come crashing down. Focus on building what people don’t see, and everything else will follow. Are you building something that will last? #Leadership #GrowthMindset #PersonalDevelopment #CareerAdvice #Foundations

How I helped my agency owner client step up into her leadership & go from a 5 figure net LOSS , and relying on her husbands income for the family, to a multi 5 figure PROFIT after paying herself and contributing to the family (the profit is what stayed in the business .) 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 My client from all outside appearances had a successful business with high profile clients in her local market, and multi 6 figure top line revenue. But she was, taking on work that wasn’t profitable, and not truly what she wanted to do, but she wasn’t comfortable to say “no” to people who depended on her, and there were issues with team members dragging the business down financially - she was paying everyone BUT herself. Now, here’s how we did it: Did a deep dive into what was working & what wasn’t and identified a lot of tolerations and the underlying limiting beliefs and identity issues Over the course of our time together (it was a long term mentorship) we worked on mindset, belief transformation, leadership development, working on her ability to receive, resolving identity issues, and confronting some really difficult decisions - business necessities, but emotionally at first seemed insurmountable to remove the income streams that brought no joy or profits, restructured her team, and raised her prices significantly. 𝐀𝐭 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 & 𝐒𝐞𝐞 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐡 we took it even deeper as the horses provided a portal to her untapped thoughts, truths, and held space for her to get really clear about exactly WHAT big obstacles (as represented by Wolfe) needed to be moved, and how she could do it in a way that was non confrontational and a win / win for all. This was the missing piece for her to feel in integrity- the confidence to make the hard decisions without feeling selfish or taking on other peoples disappointment. Once she was able to tap into this and connect to her powerand fully embody her leadership - the implementation, while not “easy”, was inevitable, and the results spoke for themselves. If you are an established entrepreneur who who wants to make this next chapter both profitable and purposeful I’d love to chat. To learn more, let’s hop on a quick call.

It is a proud moment today to celebrate 20 years in business. Most New Zealand businesses fail in the first 2 to 5 years. The key to success? Building long term relationship, trusted networks, constant reinvention and sticking to being values-led, tika, aroha, and pono. #businesssuccess #startupsuccess #leadership #valuesled #trustedrelationships #networks #reinvention #resilience #values https://lnkd.in/gvK5FXcS
