The recently concluded festival of Diwali makes me recall an anecdote from my formative years. It was early 1990s and we were expecting an order for acoustical panels from New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT)... It was for their auditorium.  We got a call that we had to be at the venue the very next day Which was Chhoti Diwali. I was in a fix! Torn between business and celebrating one of my favourite festivals. I was staying alone in an outhouse behind our factory in Bangalore those days.  I decided business which was in its infancy took precedence. Public transport wasn’t dependable  I trusted my driving skills a lot more  Since I didn’t drive on the highways solo  I requested my manager to accompany me He too was young like me and he readily agreed.  We started very early in the morning of Chhoti Diwali to catch the afternoon meeting. The outcome was positive!  They appreciated our immediate response.  It played a crucial role in our getting the order. We started back late evening and I drove all night  Just in time for Diwali the next morning. Utterly exhausted but supremely satisfied. A big lesson in prioritising Also an eye-opener for those around me to take work just as seriously. PS. Neither has this lesson ever failed me nor have I ever looked back since. India is a country of full of Opportunistic People, They always find Premium benefit from some rare event or occasion, Either Match Or Concert Tickets, Hotel Bookings, Cab or Vehicle on Rent, etc. Reason is major market is Unorganised + Less Supply Compare to demand, Recent example Last to Last Week I booked 17 Seater Traveller at 24 Rs., For that same Vehicle the rate for Diwali will be 35 Rs. Clear Extraordinary profit of 35 Rs., we also understand that there will be some premium because they are also working rather than celebrating in festival but this much nearly 50% rise in fares. Totally Unacceptable at all.

Diwali is a joyous occasion for every Indian. Diwali symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. The lights of Diwali signify a time to destroy all our dark desires and thoughts, eradicate dark shadows and evils and gives us the strength and the zeal to carry on with our goodwill for the rest of the year. Ever since THEIA NEW CONSULTANCY (TNC) was formed in 2017, there have been occasions when Diwali times has given us setbacks from which we have resurrected ourselves. In my book "The Great Corporate Escape", I have dwelled on the rejection of our very first Pressure Gauges order due to quality issues and another to the deceit by our partner from Udaipur with whom we are fighting a legal battle, both of which occurred around Diwali. Our resilience pulled us through each such downturn. DEIKTIS TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED (DT) was formed in 2022 under the able guidance of Mr. Anup Warrier who comes with a rich experience in the Gauges industry. He helped us set up the DT facility, built a team and ran the operations effectively. This Diwali, he informed Damodaran Ravi Kumar, Ajay Patil and me on his desire to move on to greener pastures. Though the decision of his did come as a shock, we understood his aspirations and in good spirit accepted his decision to move on. In fact, today at the DT facility, we are giving him a fond farewell in recognition to his valued services. Our team is now in the great hands of Ravikant Mishra, who has been with us since inception. With few more key personnel joining in soon, I have not doubt that DT will in due course go on to blaze a trail in the measurement industry. I have written about the great qualities of Mr. Anup Warrier in my book "The Great Corporate Escape", a portion of which I had the pleasure of reading in his presence at our facility a month ago, that I am sharing herewith.
