Just wrapped up a fascinating project in the intelligent buildings space in collaboration with Association for Smarter Homes & Buildings (ASHB) (formerly CABA). Our research updated on the key trends impacting the space and various opportunities. Some interesting takeaways include: - Energy efficiency and sustainability goals are a top driver for investment in additional intelligent buildings technologies and use cases (in addition to operational efficiency goals) - Data privacy and security continues to be a pervasive concern amongst building owners and operators when considering new tech - Unreliable networks, lack of system interoperability, and poor after sales service are limiting the value of data from intelligent buildings systems (89% of building owners/operators suggested they would increase investment in intelligent building solutions if data was easier to use) - Building owner/operators are most excited about the prospects of AI for Life Safety, Security, and Occupant Engagement, but are worried about cost of solutions and lack of internal expertise We are excited to continue and expand this research and growth opportunity development in 2024.
