Skilled Trades are being talked about in every school. The perceptions are changing, it's true. The next generation is watching. LET THEM KNOW SO WE CAN GROW If the next generation of the workforce doesn't "know" their options - they are much less likely to fall into a career in crane, rigging, and heavy haul. Even within construction career days and CTE Construction curriculum --- the careers and opportunities for riggers, operators, drivers, and project managers who handle the award-winning SC&RA Job of the Year projects are just not highlighted. It's up to each company and every employee to invite the Graduating class of 2036 to consider a career in the #skilledtrades. This is National Skilled Trades Day, we celebrate skilled trades educators, workers, and students for their dedication to maintaining and improving our country’s infrastructure. #crane #cranes #workforcedevelopment #rigging #oversizeoverweight #heavyhaul #operators #heavyequipment #cranelife #SCRF #SCRA #skilledtrades Photo - courtesy of SC&RF Workforce Ambassadeor Ideal Crane Rental, Inc. ROUGH TERRAIN CRANE A rough terrain (RT) crane is a mobile crane that is capable of maneuvering in unpacked, uneven ground, as well as lifting in confined spaces. They are made especially for rough locations, so they’re built differently than other types of cranes. This type of crane tends to have a wider base and wheels, which is what gives them great stability. Their wheels are also taller than the average crane’s because they need additional clearance to move easily on uneven ground without risking damage to the machine. They have four-wheel drive and power-steering, which helps make maneuvering in rough terrains manageable.
