The 30th September 2024 marked my final day at Carrick International Property, and I’ll be brutally honest - the contract DID NOT end on good terms - leading me to file a compelling lawsuit against the company. Luckily for you, upcoming young man or woman, reading this post - a vacancy is open! So if you’re looking to advance your career in the Business Development Specialist role, comment below with “I’m interested” and I’ll send you a private message to carefully guide you through on how to ensure that your resume stands out, so that you get quick and positive responses from the company. Keep an alert for my posts as in the following weeks I’ll be sharing my experiences: all my mistakes, successes and failures in order to guide you on how you can possibly achieve +2 years experience working within the company, or within any company with a similar role. As for me, I’m on the radar of UK-based companies, receiving few offers from a very small number of companies that are either based in the UK or view the UK as their market - so I am quite excited about the future. Let’s keep #learning. Let’s keep #growing.

For the eighth time in less than ten years the LaChapelles are on the move. We can’t afford to live in San Diego on two service industry salaries. We knew that when we landed here but options were limited. Now that Abby has committed to college at a UC school TBA, we need to stay in California to hang on to that sweet in-state tuition. We studied the map and decided to head to higher elevation and a lower cost of living in the Temecula area. Hot, beautiful and only a couple hours away from wherever Abby lands in the UC system. Moving means it's time to make my own luck again. Yesterday I took a 150 mile round trip ride to Temecula to job hunt. I passed out resumes and shook a few hands at motorcycle and automotive shops in the area. (lookin at you Old Town Temecula Harley-Davidson Wise Auto Group) My wife is transferring with her current company. I turned in my resignation letter earlier this week. When I was hired at my shop the company offered to put me on the store manager path. I’m incredibly grateful they saw my prior experience as a leader and felt it would be a great match. I was not so enthusiastic about being a manager, however I wanted to work on cars. They were the shop that gave me an opportunity, so I took the job. I could stay with the shop’s parent company and transfer to a location near Temecula. That would mean continuing through the company’s manager training program. I’ve been in a few situations already, which have made it abundantly clear to me that I have no interest in climbing the management ladder. I want to help customers, solve problems and eat lunch at a gas station. I don’t want to give 130% of my life so I can have the chance at making one more dollar an hour. I discussed my quandary with both Liz and my therapist before deciding it was time to move-on. I’m using moving as an opportunity to test the market as a free agent. I want growth opportunities as a technician and this is the logical next step. That said, letting go of the bird-in-hand means risking everything. Obvious choice: bet on yourself and risk everything. #jobsearch #jobhunt #mentalhealthawareness #relocation #automotive #motorcycles #hustle
