Are teachers afraid of using robots in education? I have an idea for a project using non-screen robots in kindergartens. I made a post that we are searching for kindergartens to participate. Response? Non existing. 🤔 If I post we are looking for project partners for, say, sustainability topics I usually receive like 50+ emails from organisations being interested. So, why are teachers so afraid of robotics in education? Or is this just my perception from past experiences? I have seen firsthand how much fun it can be to learn with robots. I regularly use it with my 5-year-old son. He always enjoys time with our non-screen robot, which not only provides 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 but also serves as an 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝗼𝗹. 𝗜 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 kindergartners are well capable of using robots and can be taught simple coding. So, how do we support teachers so they feel confident using robots in education? I would love to hear ideas, as I really want to see robotics and coding lessons in kindergartens all across the EU and also later on in higher grades. How can we approach this? #STEMforkids #coding #robotics #kindergarten

In today's rapidly evolving world, coding and robotics skills are becoming essential for learners of all ages. The new CAPS Coding and Robotics Curriculum aims to introduce these vital skills to students in the intermediate and Senior phases at school level, setting a strong foundation for future success in STEM careers. 💻 Coding develops problem-solving abilities, logical thinking, and creativity—skills that are crucial for the 21st century! From creating simple programs to developing innovative solutions, coding encourages kids to think critically and work collaboratively. 🤖 Robotics, on the other hand, brings code to life! It allows learners to design, build, and program their own creations, helping them understand real-world applications of technology in an exciting, hands-on way. Attending the recent Code4Kids webinar was an inspiring opportunity to dive deeper into the mechanics of how we can make coding and robotics engaging and accessible for every learner in South Africa and future proof them for opportunities to become creators, not just consumers, in the digital world. 🌐 #Coding #Robotics #C4K

As leaders, it’s important that we realize the audience that we are communicating with to help us communicate effectively. One of the key things of effective communication is ensuring that the other party understands you and has clarity on the information that you are passing acrossing. Sometimes we find ourselves saying, “but i told her/him”, the important question is, did the person understand you? As we go out to communicate and interact with people this week, let’s ensure that our communication is effective, the best way to do this is, knowing your audience and knowing how to get them to listen. Have a blessed week! #Beintentional

Educational Robotics: EV3, WeDo 2.0, and Spike Prime In modern education, educational robotics have become powerful tools for enhancing creativity, problem-solving skills, teamwork, and logical thinking in students. These tools simplify programming concepts for children while offering a fun and engaging learning experience. With a wide variety of robotics tools available today, I’ve created this content to compare three of the most popular educational robotics platforms for children. The three Kits, offered by LEGO Education—EV3, WeDo 2.0, and Spike Prime—each cater to specific age groups and educational needs. 1️⃣ EV3 (Mindstorms EV3) - Features: An advanced platform supporting the building and programming of complex robots with sophisticated motors and sensors. Programming involves loops and conditions, offering a real-world logical programming experience. Ideal for advanced STEM projects and competitions like the FIRST LEGO League. - Age Group: Suitable for students aged 10 and above. Recommended for students with prior knowledge of programming basics or a strong interest in exploring robotics in depth. - Applications: Perfect for high school students and international competitions. Frequently used in global contests to enhance engineering thinking and collaborative skills. 2️⃣ WeDo 2.0 - Features: Designed to introduce the basics of programming and engineering in a simple, fun way. Utilizes drag-and-drop programming via a user-friendly app. Encourages exploration of physics and natural science concepts through hands-on activities. - Age Group: Designed for children aged 6 to 10. Specifically tailored for primary school students to build a strong foundation in technology. - Applications: Ideal for classroom activities, especially for teaching concepts like motion and energy in an engaging and simplified manner. 3️⃣ Spike Prime - Features: Combines simplicity and professional-grade features, acting as a bridge between WeDo and EV3. Supports Python programming, making it a great choice for transitional learning. Features modern designs and versatile components for building innovative models. - Age Group: Perfect for students aged 10 to 14. Well-suited for middle school students to develop problem-solving and creative thinking skills. - Applications: Ideal for both classroom projects and extracurricular activities. Can also be used in robotics competitions. The right choice depends on the age group and level of expertise. With these amazing tools, we can inspire the next generation to become innovative thinkers and prepare them to tackle the challenges of the future. #Robotics #EV3 #Education #Wedo #Spike
