BYU–HAWAII APCC 2024 Asia Pacific Career Conference is one of the coolest events that I can pariticipate as a student here in BYUH. Companies from various different places come to our school and meet with us, students to know about our school and share their experiences to us while creating countless opportunities for us through networking and possibly hiring us after gradution or through internships. I really love this event because I get to meet a lot of people who lead the companies around the world. Even though they are from many different places, they all have similar values and expectations from students like me. For example: - to have a good work ethic - to work in a diverse environment - to adapt and learn quickly - to use critical thinking skills - to be genuinely good human being The last one is probably the most important thing for me because company culture is very important for the employees to work efficiently, and having kindness that cares for each other really improve that culture. The list continues but I just want to show my gratitude for every companies that came to our school and giving us these opportunities. I went to APCC career fair event where every company representatives introduces their companies and give valuable information to us, and then I went to the networking event where we can just network and have meaningful conversations. I really like this event because not only students get to meet with them but companies can network with each other to learn from each other which created even greater opportunities for them as well.

Recently, I had the privilege to attend the Naveen Jindal School of Management, UT Dallas Internship and Job Fair, and I believe that as a junior, it was a fantastic opportunity to meet several employers and learn about the skills they are currently seeking. And most importantly, I got the opportunity to network with many people. I would like to extend my gratitude to all the employers who participated in the JSOM Career Fair and guided me, including Texas Instruments, Southwest Airlines, Charles Schwab and Toyota North America. One key takeaway I would like to share with everyone is that whenever you have the chance, you should attend these internship and job fairs. It gives you a much better understanding of what employers are looking for in terms of skills and qualifications. Secondly, you should aim to meet as many employers as possible during these fairs because you never know when you might leave a lasting impression on someone that could benefit your career. You all should always keep your resume completely up to date, and I think the elevator pitch is a very important thing, so you should be prepared for that. For the elevator pitch, you can take guidance from your mentor or friend, anyone. I look forward to attending more of these fairs and building as many connections as I can. A special thanks to the JSOM Career Management Center - The University of Texas at Dallas for organizing such an excellent fair. I believe their efforts greatly prepare JSOM students for their professional success. #hireJSOM #UTDallas #JSOM #Career #Jobfair #Internshipfair #Business #BsCisTech #IT #Businessanalyst #Networking #Texasinstruments #Southwestairlines #Charlesschwab #Toyotanorthamerica #Jpmorgan

It’s that time of the year when most students give up on finding an internship… 😭 Don’t let that stop you from getting your dream role. We’re here to share that it is still very possible for you to get a summer internship! Here some things we recommend: 1. Go to all the career fairs in your community (for example, hit up NYC networking events if you can make a small day trip) 📚 2. Join the Product Haven Slack to see what companies are still recruiting 👀 (comment “Slack” to be added) 3. Apply to roles outside of your specific niche 👩🏻💻 4. Practice by doing or watching mock interviews. One of the best youtube channels for mocks is Exponent! 🗣️ Follow Product Haven to stay updated on what we have coming in the next few months!
