Congratulations to Dr. Thomas Weingartshofer! His PhD thesis was awarded second place for the ÖWGP-Doktoratspreis 2024, recognizing his valuable contributions to production research and ensuring the competitiveness of the Austrian economy. In his PhD thesis, Dr. Weingartshofer develops flexible planning algorithms to support the automatic generation of robot programs in flexible automation by solving complex path-planning problems in industrial processes on freeform 3D surfaces.
