My first post on LinkedIn, so not sure who will see this...
When training new technicians, I'll look for opportunities like this, where I can take them on a deck before the concrete is poured. I want them to see how the rebar reinforcement is installed, how the post tension cables are designed to rise and fall, how the trades set their sleeves, and how the electricians can pretty much run their conduits anywhere they want.
My hope is that later, this experience will help them to interpret the data the equipment is giving and visualize what their scan will look like before they begin to lay it out.
There is, of course, A LOT more that goes into training a successful GPR technician, but this is one of the tools I've found works well.
I would love to get some feedback on this and also hear what tips and tricks other trainers find useful, to get that light bulb to turn on for their rookie technicians.
