STAY HYDRATED AND HELP THE OCEAN! Turri is excited to share news that reaffirms the company’s commitment to a more sustainable approach to the environment. All employees have received branded water bottles in collaboration with Ocean Bottle, an initiative that plays a key role in reducing plastic use within our offices and its impact on the environment. For every Ocean Bottle, we prevent 11.4 kg of plastic from entering the ocean—equivalent to 1,000 single-use plastic bottles—collected from coastal communities most affected by plastic pollution. With the sale of every bottle, Ocean Bottle funds the collection of 11.368 kg of ocean-bound plastic (the equivalent in weight to 1,000 plastic bottles). They work with three Plastic Collection partners to collect plastic on a global scale, in areas where plastic pollution is worse. They collect all types of plastic and ensure it is recovered and reprocessed in as efficient and socially beneficial a way as possible. Plastic collectors can exchange waste for money or credits, which they can use for healthcare, education, financial security, and mental health support. Through this partnership, we will continue promoting initiatives that reduce our environmental footprint, while embracing innovation and social responsibility. #socialresponsability #circularity #environment #plasticcollectors

Today is International Plastic Bag Free Day 🛍️, a global initiative by the Bag Free World campaign to raise awareness of the harmful environmental impacts 🌎 of plastic bags and encourage consumers to use eco-friendly alternatives. The impact of plastic bags on our environment is profound; they contribute significantly to pollution 🌊, harm wildlife 🐢, and persist in our ecosystems for hundreds of years 📆. It's crucial to raise awareness about these issues and highlight sustainable alternatives. Reusable bags 🔁 are an excellent eco-friendly choice, reducing the need for single-use plastics and helping to minimise waste in landfills and oceans. By making a simple switch to reusable bags, each of us can contribute to a significant reduction in plastic pollution 📉. Try keeping a reusable bag in your car 🚗 or by your front door 🚪 so you don’t forget to take them with you to the shops! Additionally, supporting initiatives that promote biodegradable or compostable 🍂 alternatives to traditional plastic bags is another way to be eco-conscious. These alternatives break down more easily in the environment, reducing their impact on wildlife and ecosystems 🌱. Our small, collective actions will lead to a cleaner, greener future for generations to come! 👣 #plasticbags #plastic #plasticpollution #reusable #compostable #ecofriendly #biodegradable

Happy Earth Day! 🌍 Today is all about celebrating the Earth, whilst also reminding ourselves of how important it is for sustainability and environmental conservation to create a healthier planet. Did you know that plastic production has been happening for 162 years? The first exhibition of man-made plastic was in 1862, with the first synthetic plastic invented in 1907. However plastic usage has increased rapidly 📈 In 1950, the world produced 2 million tonnes of plastic, whereas now we produce over 450 million tonnes. And it's set to double by 2050. This significant increase in plastic waste is harmful to ecosystems, wildlife, and even ourselves. Plastic pollution is caused by our excessive usage of plastic, and a change is needed. So today, make a change. Start reducing your plastic consumption and adapt the way you consume and dispose of plastic. Take a look at our blog: https://lnkd.in/ewK7-E4M Let us know how you are reducing your plastic consumption 💚 #EarthDay2024 #EarthDay #InvestInOurPlanet #SaveThePlanet #EnvironmentalProtection #PlasticPollution #ClimateAction

Plastic straws are among the top 10 most commonly found items during beach cleanups. This is a reminder of the impact single-use plastics have on our environment. 🌍 Every year, about 50% or 419,980,609,462 pounds of plastic waste produced is single-use. This includes everyday items like plastic straws, bags, and bottles that are used once and then discarded, contributing significantly to pollution in our oceans. 🌐 In the US alone, a shocking 1 billion plastic toothbrushes and 2 billion plastic razors are thrown out annually. These numbers highlight the urgent need for us to rethink our habits and move towards more sustainable alternatives. Join us in the fight against plastic pollution and opt for reusable or biodegradable options, participate in local cleanups, and spread the word about the importance of reducing single-use plastics. We can make a difference and protect our oceans for future generations. 💙 #ThinkOcean #ReducePlastic #SustainableLiving #OceanConservation #PlasticFreeOceans
