Did you know that plastic production has been happening for 162 years? The first exhibition of man-made plastic was in 1862, with the first synthetic plastic invented in 1907. However plastic usage has increased rapidly 📈 In 1950, the world produced 2 million tonnes of plastic, whereas now we produce over 450 million tonnes. And it's set to double by 2050. This significant increase in plastic waste is harmful to ecosystems, wildlife, and even ourselves. Plastic pollution is caused by our excessive usage of plastic, and a change is needed. 🔎 It is shocking to know that plastic can take up to 1000 years to decompose.
