🎮 Late November: when video games decided to shine brighter than Christmas lights. 🕹️ Since I couldn't post yesterday's already-famous (well, at least I think it is!) History of Video Games, today I'm bringing you the events from both November 28th and 29th. Enjoy! November 28th: Shenmue (1999): Released on the Dreamcast, this game was like the nerdy student who walks into the classroom and raises the grading curve for everyone. An incredible open world, mind-blowing graphics for its time, and even a life simulation that included… feeding kittens! Yes, peak excitement. Who doesn’t love kittens? 🐱 Mario Kart: Double Dash!! (2003): What happens when Nintendo decides to put two people in one kart? Chaos! One drives, the other throws bananas (or red shells at friends’ faces). It caused a lot of arguments and ended quite a few friendships, but hey, totally worth it. Each duo had exclusive items too, which was just another reason to fight over characters. See? Stress right from the start. Super Mario 3D World (2013): A co-op Mario game? Of course! Cat Mario? YES, PLEASE!! This was when Mario decided to conquer the co-op world. Beautifully designed levels and precise challenges made this game a real treat! Bonus points for being able to play with friends—though someone always got thrown off the map. November 29th: Xbox Live (2002): Made its grand debut in the UK, proving that online multiplayer was the future. It also marked the beginning of the infamous headset shouting era. Let’s not talk about it... PlayStation 4 (2013): It arrived, and the world was never the same. Stunning graphics, breathtaking games, and if you were in Rio, there was only one place to buy it. Hint: it was downtown. (Curious? Feel free to ask! 😂) Final Fantasy XV (2016): Four friends, a stylish car, and giant monsters. The most beloved boy band in video game history. A story full of emotion, friendship, and… battles against whatever came your way. Fun, but I must admit, not my favorite. 😅 Did you enjoy the post? Did I miss anything? Did any of these games leave you traumatized? Let me know!

Along with Bradly Shankar, we composed some of our favourite games from Summer Game Fest that we played/saw in the past week. As a small breakdown of the feature, here were my top 5 games! 1. I had the opportunity to play Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc.'s Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero and it was a childhood dream come true. I've been waiting over 15 years for a proper follow-up to Tenkaichi 3 and I was happy to see features that accommodate the old players! 2. Atlus U.S.A., Inc.'s Metaphor: ReFantazio moved up to become one of my most anticipated games this year. Coming as a big Persona fan, I loved the aesthetic, gameplay and especially the music! 3. Sega of America, Inc.'s Sonic x Shadow Generations surprised me in the sense that it's not just another remaster. Shadow's stage blew me away in both level design and references. Shadow as a character shows why he's the coolest, being able to use both chaos control/spear. We are back! 4. Afterlove EP by Pikselnesia Atma Fantasi captivated me during my short hands-on with the game. Loved the emotional impact that it leaves you at the start of the game and how it showed what the MC is going through. I'm looking forward to playing this game! 5. Harmonium The Musical left me charmed by how it used animation to tell a story using American Sign Language and music. It was like playing through a Pixar movie and I was thoroughly impressed. You can read my complete thoughts, along with Brad's SGF highlights, in the link below. It's always a pleasure contributing to MobileSyrup and attend Summer Game Fest. While it's not exactly E3, it was a dream to help cover an event like this. https://lnkd.in/eFy_y58a

Team ASOBIs Astro Bot has topped the wishlist charts from the summer games showcases. Data from IGN Entertainments Playlist, tracking over 43,000 gamers' purchase intent from May 30 to June 12, highlights this trend. Astro Bot builds on the success of Astro's Playroom, a widely distributed PS5 tech demo, tapping into an already substantial audience. The rest of the Top Ten is dominated by games from Xbox's showcase, with Doom: The Dark Ages at No.2, Gears of War: E-Day at No.3, and Perfect Dark at No.4. This wishlist data favors newly announced games, with some like Assassin's Creed Shadows and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 already having an established interest. New IPs like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and South of Midnight also made the list, demonstrating a healthy mix of sequels and original titles among gamers' most anticipated games.

Nostalgia Alert! 🎮🐻 Banjo-Tooie, the beloved sequel to Banjo-Kazooie, is making a grand entrance on Nintendo Switch this October 25th, and it's coming with a fresh widescreen support update. Having already wowed us on Xbox with enhanced graphics and smoother gameplay, I'm personally thrilled to see it join the Nintendo 64 - Nintendo Switch Online collection.
