The secret to scaling across 45 countries? It’s more than just data—it’s the drive and conviction of local entrepreneurs who want to bring the Multiplier Effect to their ecosystems. From Egypt to Chile, Endeavor has built a network of role models who lead with bold vision and inspire the next generation of founders. In Ireland, that vision was driven by our chairman, The Edge, who, in 2019, assembled a founding board of influential entrepreneurs and investors—Elaine C. of Atlantic Bridge, Alan Foy of VentureWave Capital, Anne Heraty, Denis O’Brien, and Mark Roden —to guide local operations and fuel Endeavor’s expansion in Ireland. Five years later, there are now 15 ambitious entrepreneurs across 11 fast-scaling companies in the Endeavor Ireland network. These founders are not only scaling their companies from Ireland but are also mentoring earlier-stage founders and inspiring their teams to embark on their own entrepreneurial journeys - creating a multiplier effect. The report that goes with it is an interesting read (extract below) that goes into some details of the geographical and business diversity in Europe (besides spotlighting the top 10 startups). I've also found it quite interesting that the majority of founders have no intention of relocating their business outside of EU. 🚀 Insights from the 2024 Startup Canada Tour Report At Volition, we are inspired by Startup Canada's work in connecting, supporting, and amplifying the voices of Canadian founders. Their 2024 Tour Report captures key themes and challenges within the entrepreneurial ecosystem, offering valuable insights for all of us working to build an equitable future. A few recurring themes stood out: ✨ The value of community, collaboration, and adaptability in navigating the entrepreneurial journey. These qualities remain essential for founders to thrive amidst challenges. 📉 The impact of economic uncertainty in recent years, underscoring the importance of founders investing in financial literacy to bolster resilience and growth. Startup Canada also elevated critical conversations around the unique challenges faced by women-identifying founders, particularly those with intersecting identities. Persistent barriers in accessing capital outside immediate networks remain, and Black and Indigenous entrepreneurs highlighted the need for tailored support that recognizes the distinct needs of different communities. One standout moment from the tour was Mandy Potter's powerful keynote, where she urged attendees to reflect and act: “What is your role in driving systemic change within the entrepreneurial ecosystem?” This call to action resonates deeply with us.
