When I was at Dialog back in late 90's there was this start up giving away #news for free, which was a problem for us because we sold access to news. The other problem was the #authors of the #articles, most of which were independents, were no longer getting paid and started suing for unauthorized use of their #content. That start up was #Google. I see this happening all over again, this time with use of proprietary information for #AI. There was a second article out today citing #Anthropic, an #Amazon backed AI company being sued over #copyrightinfringement. Expect a backlog as the government moves at the pace of #government while the #technology world is moving at light speed. I love the idea of #blockchain and #smartcontracts set up to pay #royalties and #licensing fees on use of content.
