Victor Hurlburt Story: Ten years ago, I met Carolyn Moor at a public speaking event in Orlando. At the time, I was a semi-retired environmental engineer and a #widower, trying to make sense of my own experience. Over the years, I have volunteered my time to help Modern Widows Club®️ | The Movement for Widow Care (MWC) in a variety of ways—from increasing media exposure to building key partnerships and assisting with important tasks like removing MWC from state domestication filings. After years of turning down a formal role, I have now accepted the position of Treasurer on the MWC Board of Directors. I’m excited to continue supporting the health, well-being, and empowerment of widows through this new role. Looking back on how MWC has grown, I feel incredibly proud of the impact we’ve had on so many women’s lives. I know firsthand how difficult widowhood can be—the sense of loneliness, the uncertainty, and the overwhelming new realities. But what MWC offers is more than just support; it’s a community where widows can rebuild, grow, and thrive. I’ve seen the power of this community, and it’s been an honor to be a part of it. The work we do is transformative, not only for the women we serve but for the entire widowhood experience. Today I had the pleasure of meeting with Ann Coulter accompanied by SHRO board member, Andrew Douglas, at his birthday in Bonita Springs Florida, with his loving wife Sally. Every year Andrews birthday has a surprise element. This year it was a guest speaker Anne Coulter which was amazing. After cake, we had an open and honest discussion on what is happening in the Republican Party. In an atmosphere of openness and honesty, we grappled with the question: Can we stand behind Trump? And if not, what does the future hold? Can we support Trump? If not, what happens? Anne Coulter's insights illuminated the room, addressing each query with depth and perspective.
