Five further size options have joined the Apollo Terra Pro range, widening its compatibility with construction equipment such as telescopic handlers, compact loaders and backhoe loaders. Apollo Tyres will now offer the Terra Pro series in the following new sizes: 340/80R20 Terra Pro 1044; 365/80R20 Terra Pro 1045; 405/70R24 Terra Pro 1045; 500/70R24 Terra Pro 1044; and 500/70R24 Terra Pro 1045. All Terra Pro tyres feature a steel belt and a tie bar for greater stability during loading and lifting. A sidewall protector complements the tyre’s cut and crack resistant compound to provide an increased level of robustness while working in mud or on debris. Terra Pro 1044 for soft surfaces The typical industrial traction pattern of the Terra Pro 1044 ensures traction on soft underfoot conditions like mud. The wide and V-shape ending of the lug in the centre part of the tread further improves stability whilst supporting a uniform wear pattern. Terra Pro 1044 (Image: Apollo Tyres) Terra Pro 1045 for hard surfaces The Terra Pro 1045 features a symmetrical tread consisting of alternating hexagons. This design optimises stability in all directions, even on slopes. The hexagons are designed for even patterns of wear and high levels of durability, especially while turning and manoeuvring with heavy loads. The symmetrical design delivers balanced traction while driving forward and backwards. https://lnkd.in/eB5nbjth

While small two axle city or All Terrain cranes such as the 13 tonne Kato CR-130Rv city crane, the 35 tonne Liebherr LTM 10302.1 or the 40 tonne Tadano AC 2.040-1 can handle this type of work, their size, base boom length, manoeuvrability and diesel power can't match the agility or pick & carry ability of an all electric Valla, Ormig, Galizia or JMG. Purpose built to lift and transport heavy loads over short distances, often indoors, they thrive in cramped spaces with low headroom where traditional cranes or forklifts may struggle. However, when it comes to rough or uneven terrain, pick & carry cranes face a significant drawback. Their smooth solid tyres, heavy rigid frame and inability to level up - while excellent for working on firm level surfaces - limit their versatility. These cranes excel in controlled environments such as warehouses, factories and industrial sites, where concrete floors and level ground are the norm. However, they struggle to maintain performance on loose gravel or in soft, muddy conditions. In such challenging terrains, telehandlers and RT forklifts come into their own - horses for courses if you like. A precursor to the modern mobile cranes, pick & carry cranes were widely used, not only in industrial applications but in some countries such as the UK and Australia - in rental fleets. As a result, cranes in those markets developed differently with products like the Iron Fairy, Taylor Jumbo or Coles Speed cranes in the UK and articulated cranes like the Franna in Australia, with more speed for local road travel and avoiding the need for a trailer. Meanwhile in India, a cost effective articulated tractor based alternative was adopted. Pulseo boom Last month Haulotte announced a new 46ft all-electric articulated Rough Terrain boom liftthe HA16 E - along with the higher specification HA16 E Pro with the public unveiling at last month's ARA Show. The new boom lift has the same performance as the diesel model in terms of operating speeds and gradeability thanks to its direct AC wheel motor drive, but is equally at home working indoors or out. The new boom is available with Haulotte's Range Extender generator pack, effectively converting it to a hybrid machine. The unit shares features and systems with Haulotte's now well proven Pulseo Rough Terrain scissor lifts. The design is similar to the diesel with dual riser, two section telescopic boom and articulating jib and a working height of 16 metres, although outreach is 400mm less at 7.9 metres, but it has more up & over reach at 7.88 metres and a higher maximum/unrestricted platform capacity of 300kg. Overall width is a compact 2.3 metres, but it is almost a tonne heavier than the diesel at 7,120kg. Charging solutions include plugging into a normal AC mains socket or three phase outlet for faster charging, or the diesel Range Extender, which according to Haulotte, can be installed in around five minutes as long as you have a forklift handy, can recharge the battery pack from zero to 80 percent in around three hours. The standard HA16 E has four wheel drive, two wheel steer and fixed axles while the Pro version also has four wheel steering and an oscillating front axle along with a higher standard specification.
