It’s this simple: Employers who continue prioritizing their employees’ mental health will succeed as those in the workforce repeatedly express the importance of this as part of their overall job satisfaction. Conversely, workers who don’t feel supported in this space are more likely to seek employment elsewhere. Need tips on where to start? http://ow.ly/YCU130sIsbB

Last week I was fortunate to talk with my colleagues Kate Van Hulzen, Carolina Mazza Wanderley and Nigel McNeil about the challenges of “Building a thriving global workforce”. We discussed employer efforts in developing robust emotional well-being strategies. From our 2023 Global Sentiment Survey, we know that “48% of workers around the world stated their or their family's mental health causes them stress”. This is driving interest from employers in taking action that helps employees and their dependents with mental health issues, like reimagining the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Employers are also offering a variety of mental health initiatives like programs that support mindfulness, stress management, resiliency and even happiness. During our webinar we conducted a poll about potential initiatives under consideration and 28% of respondents indicated they are planning to reimagine their EAP. And among those looking to rethink their EAP strategy: · 49% are looking to broaden the services provided, · 35% will be implementing a new vendor, and, · 16% are planning to enhance the number of visits. What initiatives are you considering to enhance the emotional well-being of your workforce? I’d love to learn more about strategies that you are using to help employes thrive! #fidelityassociate

Many employers focus on promoting employee well-being during #MentalHealthAwareness Month. However, recent surveys show they may not effectively address their employees' mental health needs throughout the year. A recent survey found that approximately 75% of employers have seen an increase in requests for accommodations related to mental health issues, but only 22% of employers have updated their policies in response to this trend.
