Come get your foot in the door in the field of Forensics! Pay scale increase that tops out around $40/hr when you finish training and promote to Technician. Pay scale increase that tops out around $45/hr if you’re cool like me and promote to Senior Technician. 😎 Union job, city benefits, these pay scales are just for now and increase with cost of living and union negotiations. I will not lie, this is a very tough job. Hours are not consistent and are based on seniority. You will likely be working second shift. You’ll be exposed to the worst of society on a regular basis and see things that would make most people sick. If you’re okay with all of that, this is one of the most rewarding (but thankless) jobs. To be able to play an active role in solving crimes and putting away criminals is a feeling that I can’t even put into words.
