Children and teens are still developing their critical thinking and decision-making skills. They are therefore more susceptible to AI chatbots' persuasive and engaging nature. Many children and teens feel isolated and lonely in today's digital age. AI chatbots can offer a sense of companionship and support, making it difficult to resist the temptation to spend excessive amounts of time interacting with them. Children and teens generally do not have enough life experience to truly appreciate the dangers of sharing personal information with AI. AI chatbot companions are designed to be engaging and rewarding, which is highly addictive.
