Fastener manufacturing is a multi-step process that includes (in a nutshell) material selection, forming, threading, heat treatment, surface treatment, inspection, testing, and finally, packaging and shipping. When it comes to the threads, they are typically created through one of two processes – either rolled or cut. What is the difference, and how does the way the threads are created affect your application? What is the difference between rolled and cut threads? What Happens After the Mill Stage? 🤔 After the rubber goes through the mill, the next critical step is extrusion. At this stage, the milled rubber is fed into our extruder to be shaped and formed. Here’s how the extruder process works: The rubber compound is heated and forced through a die, which shapes it into the required profile. It’s then cooled and cured, ensuring the rubber retains its precise shape and properties. This process allows us to create customised rubber products, from seals and hoses to gaskets, with the exact dimensions and performance characteristics needed for your project. 👌 Trust the process! #RubberManufacturing #ExtrusionProcess #PrecisionEngineering #CustomerFocused #BespokeSolutions

Let’s talk Coil vs. Extrusion! Coil coatings are applied to metal before it’s fabricated, often referred to as pre-paint. During the highly efficient coil coatings process, even solvents that would otherwise be wasted can be turned into useful fuel for the curing process. Extrusion coatings, also referred to post-paint, are spray applied after the metal has been formed. These shop-applied extrusion coatings are formulated to adhere to metal substrate and resist wear and tear through the manufacturing process. Variations in extruder output melt pressure can cause varying output discharge, leading to decreased productivity. However, before blaming screw design or temperature profiles, it's important to check the extruder installation. If you don't have a pressure transducer, and the screw is new or already checked with no blocking in the feeding throat, try the following: - Ensure the screw is completely pushed back in the barrel with full seating in gearbox/thrust bearing bore. - Validate that at least one full flight channel is visible from feed throat opening to pick up adequate material. Many times, after screw removal & reinstall, such cases may happen, especially with smaller size extruders. These tips and hints can help increase productivity and reduce downtime. #Plasticindustry #Extrusion #Productivity #Technology #Machine #Tips #Hints #Pipe

What kind of extruder do you use when produce cable? The difference between tube extrusion and extrusion for cable extrusion: Tube extrusion and extrusion are two common cable extrusion processes, and their main differences are the process and product characteristics: 1. Tube extrusion: Process: The cable is formed by pressing the conductive material into a tubular die, and then stretched and compressed by the spiral in the die. Product characteristics: Usually used to make cables with small diameters, suitable for applications requiring high flexibility and high conductivity. 2. Extrusion: Process: The cable is formed by pressing the conductive material into a die, and then squeezed and stretched by the pressure in the die. Product characteristics: Suitable for making cables with larger diameters, usually with high mechanical strength and wear resistance. #extrusion #extruder #cable #kabel #plastic

Ever wanted to see what our extrusion process looks like? Now you can! 👀 👇 While every extrusion project is unique, there are three key steps we follow every time: 1) 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. Rubber sheets are heated to soften and scored with a sharp knife to aid the release of any air before they are rolled and inserted into the extruder. 2) 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. Once the die is secured in place, the rubber is placed inside the extruder where it is then forced through the die to form the desired profile. The extrusion is guided onto a roller as it exits the machine, sometimes with the support of a former before it's cut to size and left to rest. 3) 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗲. Now the correct shape and length, all that's left to do is put the extrusion in the autoclave to cure it. The autoclave is basically a pressurised oven that 'cooks' the rubber part to perfection. We check the quality of our rubber parts throughout the process – so rest assured, our products do what you need them to! #UKMfg #RubberManufacturing #Manufacturing #Rubber #Engineering #RubberExtrusion
