𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐌𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 Growing up, I always looked up to my dad, an electrical engineer, and wanted to follow in his footsteps. I pursued electrical engineering in school, thinking it was a safe choice and aligned with my passion for technology. However, during my third year, I discovered my true passion for software engineering and started learning computer science subjects. Initially, I thought I would end up working for companies that combine software and electronics, but I needed to prepare myself. When placement season began, I applied to companies right away and landed an interview with American Express in my very first attempt. Never did I imagine that I would receive interview calls from other big tech companies like Microsoft. A senior advised me to keep applying, which encouraged me to push past my own doubts and insecurities. Despite my initial struggles with imposter syndrome, these opportunities made me believe in my skills and potential. I'm sharing this to encourage everyone in tech: 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤. 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐩—your passion and hard work can lead you to places you never imagined! Let’s continue breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations in software engineering. 💻💪 If you need guidance or someone to talk to about your own journey, please feel free to reach out to me directly through DM or schedule a session via Topmate(). I'm here to support you on your path! #TechJourney #SoftwareEngineering #ImposterSyndrome #CareerDevelopment

😔 I'm lost, but isn't the grind that shapes us in tech? I understand that feeling, fresh out of college with a degree in hand and the world seemingly on pause. It's only been a few months since I've graduated, and I won't sugarcoat it—I'm still on the hunt for that first big break in tech. It's not always easy. There are days when I feel all on my own, or so tired I can hardly think. Sometimes, I'm plain scared. But then I get back to work, and it feels like I'm doing something right. My feelings change a lot, but what I do each day, adds up. So, for anyone who's just finished school and is trying to find their way, you're not alone. I get it. It's tough not knowing what's coming next. But here's what I've learned: Just keep moving. Apply for that job, learn that new skill, tackle that project. We're all in this together. In the end, we can't control the job market or predict the future. But we can control how much effort we put in. So let's put in the work and be proud of it. That's what counts. #Tech #SoftwareEngineering #RecentGrad

Let's discuss a reality in the software engineering world. Two engineers, same skills, same job. One earns 30 LPA, the other earns 5 LPA. Why the huge difference? It's not always about technical ability. Often, it's about the opportunities we access early in our careers. I started out earning 4.5 LPA. A friend of mine was making 30 LPA at the same time. The main difference? He graduated from an IIT; I graduated from a Tier-3 college. But here's what I've learned: Your starting point doesn't define your entire journey. With persistence, learning, and seizing opportunities, you can bridge that gap. Let's focus on building a more equitable industry where skills and hard work truly matter. What do you think? To all CS students: Tech jobs might not come as easy as they once did, but that’s actually an advantage if you think about it. With competition comes the chance to build skills that truly stand out. It’s not just about picking up a new language or framework—it's about continuously learning, adapting, and pushing yourself to understand what others might overlook. Staying sharp in this field means getting comfortable with the unknown. Take on projects that challenge you, build a portfolio that speaks to your strengths, and keep growing. The journey to a meaningful career in tech might not be straightforward, but every bit of effort you put in now is setting you up to be ahead of the curve. Be curious, stay motivated, and build your own path. 7/100 #CSStudents #TechCareers #LearnAndGrow #CareerBuilding

Are you from a tier 2 or tier 3 college? Scenario 1: [ Degree ] vs. [ Skills ] Winner: [ Skills ] Scenario 2: [ Degree + Skills ] vs. [ Skills ] Winner: [ Degree + Skills ] Scenario 3: [ Degree + Skills ] vs. [ Exceptional Skills ] Winner: [ Exceptional Skills ] Note: 1. "Exceptional Skills" doesn't mean your friends like your code or design. It means having built something yourself that is well-recognized by a broad audience. 2. In this scenario, you need to work extremely hard, and you will also need a good piece of luck. If you’re pursuing your degree, focus on clearing your exams while also developing your skill set. Yes, it can be managed. There are thousands of things you can do in tech. Try to be proficient in a specific job role while also experimenting with different technologies. Don't compare yourself to others, and don't get discouraged because, in all scenarios, "Skills" are always winning. However, you must excel in them.

From 2 to 52… 🥈 In 2022, only two Delaware students applied for the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship and Internship. Enter the Tech Council of Delaware – our organization formed a strategic partnership with Amazon to promote the scholarship and internship opportunity in the First State. The Tech Council of Delaware does not simply share information and walk away. Rather, we often pair additional supports, as a complement to the valuable resource, as a way of enhancing impact and fostering the persistence of learners toward goal attainment. 📢 In the Fall of 2023, we led a statewide campaign to inform high school students interested in pursuing a computer science or engineering college degree about the Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship and Internship. We provided guidance to 20+ high school seniors on submitting a high-quality application by the deadline and we contracted with Dr. Pat Smith, Ed.D, M.Ed, MBA, Certified Career Counselor of Holmes Smith Consulting Services to assist 10 of those students with writing a compelling personal essay. 📈 We are thrilled to announce that 52 Delaware students applied for the scholarship last Fall! This is a 2,500% increase in one year and a testament to the value the Council adds to Delaware’s tech ecosystem! 🏆 Amazon will announce scholarship winners this Spring and we are optimistic that several Delaware students will be among the nearly 400 nationwide awardees. We look forward to celebrating all Delaware applicants and awardees in May and continuing our work to build inclusive tech talent pipelines in the First State. 👏🏽 Many thanks to the Council’s members and partners for spreading the word and encouraging students to apply. Learn more about the scholarship: https://lnkd.in/gBGjsVMz. Let's keep the momentum going to build our state's future workforce together! #AmazonFutureEngineer #collegescholarship #tech #delaware #techhub

Did you know that 40% of developers who graduate from coding boot camps can’t secure jobs? On top of that, 69% take 6 months or longer to land one, and some never do. The first three months post-graduation can be filled with uncertainty for 82% of techies. The truth is, finishing a tech course, boot camp, or even a computer science degree is a great milestone, but it doesn’t guarantee you’ll land that first opportunity. Employers, recruiters, and businesses aren’t focused on your certificates or your capstone apps. They want to know how you can solve real-world problems that matter to them and also make them money. At InternPulse, we help aspiring developers, product designers, product managers, virtual assistants, and data analysts get hands-on experience, learn teamwork, handle pressure, grow their skills faster, build valuable networks, and find unique ways to monetize their expertise. Ready to gain the skills and confidence employers are looking for? Let’s help you level up! 🌟 6 months at Microsoft 🌟 These 6 months have been full of learning. However, here are 5 key lessons I’ve learned so far: 1️⃣ Customer First Before releasing a feature, hundreds of checks are done to make sure it works perfectly for the customer. It’s all about solving problems and making their experience better. 2️⃣ Quality Matters Writing good code is a must here. Everything we build is made to last and perform well. 3️⃣ Testing is Everything Nothing gets released without proper testing—unit tests, post-merge checks, you name it. This ensures nothing breaks. 4️⃣ Small Steps, Big Impact Big tasks are broken into smaller ones so progress can be made step by step. This way, we keep things smooth and bug-free. 5️⃣ Speak Up Got a thought or a better idea? Share it! It’s always encouraged, and often, it leads to better solutions. Grateful for the journey so far and excited to keep learning and growing! 😊 . . . . . P.S. - The picture is from Microsoft Redmond Campus, Seattle, USA 🇺🇸 #microsoft #job #grateful #learning #experience #coding #softwareEngineer #MicrosoftLife #GrowthMindset #Networking #culture #placements #internships #jobs #coding #algorithms #maang #faang
