This weekend there was another edition of the #MakerFaireGent. Completely #SoldOut! Which is a sign that the concept works ✅ A great place to be if you have a creative left brain 🧠 and are not afraid to use your hands (even though you might have 2 left hands 🙌 ) We have a "Makers@Siemens.be" group and we were happy to be present again. This year we highlighted the #LittleInnovator kits. The goal we try to achieve is to introduce residential and industrial programming to kids by means of robust real-life hardware and software. How do you program your lights in your house 🏡 ? How to you configure a scheduled ventilator 🌪 ? What about a traffic light 🚦 ? What about an alarm system 🔊 ? What about a parking lot? 🚘 What about a safety fence? And so on... Together with UCLL Techniek- en WetenschapsAcademie we use these kits to stimulate #STEM / #STEAM for a young public of kids. Very satisfying to see when the "technology-spark" is visible in their eyes once the play around with the modules. Big #Kudos to the organization and more specifically to my colleagues who spent their personal time ⏳ . But you get much in return 👌 And let us not forget the upper-maker himself Henk Rijckaert, as always he did a great job 📣 . Interested to have these sessions at your company during your family day?
