I've been speaking to a lot of graduates over the past few months, and one question I hear a lot is, "Now what do I do next?" 🤔 Let's be honest, a role in recruitment isn't usually at the top of most people's lists. Some are curious, but most people either aren't fully sure what it entails or might even have a few misconceptions about it. After watching our CEO, Hayley Still, deliver an inspiring alumni speech at Cardiff University / Prifysgol Caerdydd, I've been reflecting on how great this field can actually be for new grads!! Many graduates leave university with a specific career in mind, sometimes because it's what they genuinely want, and other times because they feel it's the path they're supposed to take—something that would make their family proud. I truly believe recruitment is an amazing career for graduates. It offers so much opportunity in every area—opportunity to learn more, earn more, and grow both personally and professionally. So, if you're a recent grad wondering what's next, you can watch Hayley's speech at the 47-minute mark here: https://lnkd.in/e-9ZgEgc and learn about her journey from Law Grad to Recruitment Leader. You never know - recruitment might just be the perfect place to start your professional journey!

The start of the contact period in NCAA scholarship sports is crucial because it allows college coaches to directly communicate with high school student-athletes. During this time, coaches can initiate in-person meetings, evaluate players' skills, and discuss potential scholarship opportunities. This period is key for building relationships between coaches and prospects and influencing recruitment decisions. It's a vital phase in the athletic recruiting process.

Say hello to our next grad spotlight: Katelyn Young! A childhood spent playing sports and the common injuries that often come with it introduced Katelyn to the athletic training profession at a young age. "They were compassionate and caring while preparing me to return to my sport successfully. I realized that they did not have to do that since playing sports was a privilege that I chose to participate in. I want to provide athletes with the same care and compassion that I received and to see them be successful in their sport." At Lynchburg, Katelyn was blown away but that same caring attention and support that characterized her childhood experiences. "My favorite part about the University of Lynchburg is how everyone manages to make you feel included and cared about. I feel that this is due to the smaller and more personal class sizes and he one on one attention you receive from faculty and staff. My favorite memory of the University of Lynchburg is Game days with the Softball team and their cheers. Coach and the team were very welcoming and tried to include us in everything." With Commencement just one day away, Katelyn has this message for future Lynchburg MSAT students: "Do not be afraid to fail, that is how you learn and grow. The fear of failure and not being perfect can hold you back. With this, ask as many questions as you can and soak in the little moments because 2 years goes by very fast." #UniversityOfLynchburg #ChangingLivesIsWhatWeDoBest #HornetPride #LynchburgLeaders #HornetSuccess #LynchburgGradStudies #Commencement24 #LynchburgMSAT #athletictraining

I’m officially a #UFgrad! 🐊💙🧡 Three and a half years ago, I started the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications Master of Arts program in mass communication with a specialization in PR. I have appreciated the chance to use new concepts and skills in real time as a working professional throughout the duration of the program. A few top takeaways: - The ability to write is the ability to influence. Writing aptitude matters in every job function. - The importance of understanding your business/industry cannot be overstated. - PR should always be about building mutually beneficial relationships… give as much (or better yet, more) than you take. - If you can’t measure it in the context of business results, you probably shouldn’t do it. I’m proud to be part of Gator Nation, even though I’ll always be a University of Nebraska-Lincoln #Husker 🌽 first!

🚨 Impact of NIL Legislation on College Football: Parity and Recruiting 🚨 Here’s what we might expect: 🏈 Increased Competition for Top Recruits: Financially robust schools with strong alumni networks are better positioned to offer enticing NIL deals, making the race for top talent even more competitive. ⚖️ Potential for Increased Parity: Surprisingly, NIL could level the playing field. Schools in larger media markets or with unique branding opportunities may now attract recruits who see lucrative NIL potential beyond traditional powerhouses. 🔄 Shift in Recruiting Dynamics: Recruiting might now hinge not just on facilities and history, but also on the potential for NIL earnings. Programs that can effectively market their NIL opportunities could gain a crucial edge. 📉 Challenges for Smaller Programs: Schools with less financial muscle might struggle to keep up, potentially widening the gap between them and larger programs. 🌍 Regional Differences: States with favorable NIL laws could see their local programs gain a competitive advantage, while restrictive NIL regulations might put others at a disadvantage. 📜 Compliance and Strategy: Navigating NIL compliance will be crucial. Programs will need to invest in compliance staff and infrastructure to ensure their recruiting practices align with NCAA and state regulations. 💪 Player Empowerment: Athletes now have more control over their financial futures, potentially leading to increased player mobility as they seek the best NIL opportunities. While NIL changes present new opportunities, they also bring challenges for maintaining parity in college football. The long-term effects will hinge on how programs adapt and the evolving regulatory landscape. 🏆 #NIL #CollegeFootball #Recruiting #AthleteEmpowerment #SportsLaw #NCAA

According to US News, honors colleges and honors programs are as much about recruiting students as they are about the educational experience they offer. Students need to research the ins and outs of the honors options and understand their pluses and minuses. Here are some things to consider: How rigorous are the honors classes? How big are the honors classes? Who teaches the honors classes? What is the mix of honors and non-honors classes students take over the course of their four years of study? Is there a thesis or capstone requirement? What kind of mentoring and advising is offered? Does the honors college or program have a residential component? Does the honors college or program give students priority registration? Does the honors college or program have an entry point for students during their first or second year? Are honors students well integrated into the campus life and welcomed in clubs and organizations? Does the honors college or program provide merit aid? #honorscollege #honorcollege #honorsprogram #honorprogram #honorsprograms #highschoolstudent #highschooljunior #university
