Post Summer Game Fest 2024 Report: With all these incredible video games scheduled to be released in 2024/25, it would be hard to imagine the game industry has experienced significant layoffs this year. But they have. So let's do our best as a community to get these amazing folks back to work! Eight out of the top 10 most anticipated games were developed by indies; and 2 of those 8 were developed by a single person (wow). Activision Blizzard I have to say, you patch #Warcraft3 on MAC and its unplayable (will not load) for all MAC's since October 4th with no ETA on when it will be fixed (16 Days!!). Speechless, no comms, nothing....... https://lnkd.in/gvnXqJjc I am not one to typically complain and these days I hardly play, but when my old school friend of 20 years is down from interstate, with my 14 year old son wanting to beat us both (he probably will), and we decide to play WarCraft 3, I expect it to work. Yes I know everyone has a PC, and MAC's are outliers, but how can you offer a paid offering for years, patch it, break it and offer no rollback or ETA. This is a text book example of why observability, chaos engineering and SRE are important.
