🌱 Empowering Rural Livelihoods: #ASuccessStory 🌱 Meet Jeema Barle, a resilient farmer from the backward village of Hintrai, Naktideul, Sambalpur district of Odisha. Jeema, alongside her husband and their 9-year-old son. Jeema adopted a modern approach to farming by implementing trellis/multilayer farming techniques on their modest 10 decimal plot, focusing on cultivating bitter gourd. With an initial investment of Rs. 17,000, including Rs. 13,000 for the trellis structure and Rs. 4,000 for seeds, fertilizers, labor, and other expenses. The returns from Jeema's efforts speak volumes about the success of her venture. In just four pickings, she harvested 450 kg of bitter gourd, fetching Rs. 13,500. She foresees an expected yield of 1,500 kg of bitter gourd in one season, translating to a staggering Rs. 45,000 in revenue. Why Trellis is sustainable framing practices. With a minimum lifespan of three years, the trellis structure requires only recurring costs for subsequent seasons, such as seeds, fertilizers, labor, and other essentials. This not only ensures consistent profitability but also underscores the long-term viability of this farming method. Jeema's story is a testament to the transformative power of embracing innovative farming techniques. Through her determination and willingness to adapt, she has not only secured a better future for her family but has also inspired countless others in her community to explore new avenues for agricultural success. I'm honored to be part of Jeema's journey and extend heartfelt gratitude to her and her family for showcasing the power of perseverance. Special thanks to the donor-supporting organizations for their contributions. Together, we can continue to sow the seeds of change and foster prosperity in rural India. 🌾 #FarmingInnovation #AgriculturalSuccess #EmpoweringFarmers #RuralDevelopment #Empowerment #SuccessStory

#celebrating a great beginning for ACCESS Development Services as we start a prestigious #partnership with #HUF Hindustan_Unilever_Foundation #JalAajAurKal for addressing #demand side challenges for #water in #agriculture for 1,00,000 #farmers across 10 blocks of #Jaipur district. The program has two key strategies: 1: Working directly with farmers to encourage #waterefficient #practices at #farm level, promoting a shift in behavior, & 2: #Leveraging #Government #schemes to improve #water #infrastructure. The program aims to save 176.39 #billion liters of #water apart from helping improve #productivity, increased #income and additional man days of #employment to the farmers in the region. We also aim to promote innovative solutions from #agritech and #startups working on this theme. As an organization working with 2,00,000 plus small and marginal farmers across eight states in India, supporting 184 #FPOs, with a strong command over the #agriculture #commodity #valuechain #linkages, #sustainable production techniques and introducing cutting age #digitalization and #farmmechanization #technologies in the farm sector, we always had the strong desire to also get an opportunity to be able to address the water related stress of farmers. Jaipur region is already categorized as #critical and challenges of farmers on water scarcity and resultant #agroecological issues were one of the most highlighted risk, during a baseline study conducted with #lacaixa #foundation under our #work4progress program in the area. We had a wonderful experience of the #duediligence process by #HUF . It was quite #inclusive and both teams actually #codeveloped the #program , Sh Shraman Jha also presented a copy of the #annualreport of #HUF titled #WaterScarcity to #WaterResilience to Vipin Sharma during the occasion. 🇮🇳🐛Celebrating Independence Day: Empowering Rural India through Sericulture 🐛🇮🇳 As we stand united in celebrating the 78th Independence Day, I reflect on how far we've come as a nation—and how industries like sericulture have played a vital role in shaping rural livelihoods and economic resilience. In the threads of silk, we find not just a product, but a symbol of India's heritage, strength, and potential for future growth. At Mahyco, our work in silkworm seed production is more than just a profession; it is part of a larger vision to support the backbone of our nation—our farmers. Sericulture isn’t just about producing silk; it’s about uplifting communities, empowering farmers, and driving innovation from the ground up. Each day, through our efforts in silkworm seed production, we are contributing to the very essence of "Atmanirbhar Bharat"—an India that stands strong, self-sufficient, and unwavering. From the chawki rearing centers to the expansive fields where silkworms are nurtured, every step we take is a step toward the collective progress of our nation. Sericulture is more than a profession; it’s a commitment to a future where rural prosperity and sustainable growth are at the forefront of our development. On this Independence Day, I extend my deepest respect to all those in agriculture and sericulture who, with every seed sown and every cocoon harvested, are building the foundation of a stronger, more vibrant India. Let’s continue to rise together, transforming lives and landscapes, as we march towards a brighter tomorrow. 🇮🇳Jai Hind! 🇮🇳 !!! #IndependenceDay #Sericulture #Mahyco #RuralEmpowerment #SilkProduction #SilkIndustry
