💡 Exciting advancements in concussion research! A recent study, led by Dr. Tator and the Canadian Concussion Centre, part of the Krembil Brain Institute at UHN, examined recovery patterns among 600 patients with persistent concussion symptoms. The findings highlight significant associations between the cause of concussion, such as sports injuries, falls or motor vehicle crashes, and the recovery outcome. The Infirmary Health Heart & Vascular Institute is now offering advanced treatment for atrial fibrillation (AFib) using the FARAPULSE Pulsed Field Ablation System from Boston Scientific. Dr. Jordan Chaisson and Dr. Robert Robichaux recently performed the first such procedure in Baldwin County at Thomas Hospital. It uses non-thermal electric fields to selectively ablate heart tissue, providing a safer alternative to traditional thermal ablation methods.
