𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝘀" This workshop led by Rebecca B. and Fátima Delgado Medina is for students and researchers in engineering, design, and related fields, organized for the Green Week by GreenTU | Green TU Delft at TU Delft | Technology, Policy and Management faculty. 🌎𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘀. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. We'll also explore engineers' roles in facilitating a just energy transition. The workshop aims:  𝟭.    𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Challenge the traditional definitions of sustainability that overlook historical and colonial contexts and explore their impacts in "Global South" communities. 𝟮.    𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Delve into the responsibilities of engineers in developing socially and environmentally just energy solutions and how they can stimulate systemic change. 𝟯.    𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲: Learn about an approach to critically unpack sustainability systems, enabling participants to apply a decolonial perspective to the energy transition. 🌎 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱? Gain a deeper understanding of decolonial perspectives for a just energy transition. Explore a practical tool to reflect on and re-think energy transition projects. The workshop on the Sustainability Task Force and the SSH Task Force is already on Monday 24 June! The workshop will cover the latest position papers released based on Sustainability and SSH that shed light on critical aspects of our industry. These papers represent a collaborative effort to address critical challenges and opportunities in the battery sector. It can be as silly as this: 👟 Do you wear shoes with plastic/rubber shoe soles? ✅ Probably everybody's answer is "Yes". Which means this message belongs to everyone reading this. 🏃Every step we take, we generate microplastics through wear of our shoes. 🚗This smaller example can be extrapolated towards driving a car. Annabelle Sclater is a key member of the Lincs Chamber team and is currently working with the University of Lincoln in a joint project to build an assessment tool which will enable you to measure the impact of your business from an ESG - environmental, social and governance point of view. This area is of increasing importance across all sectors and increasingly becoming a part of business criteria for many tenders etc. Annabelle has created the base assessment and we would really appreciate a few businesses joining the pilot - we'd love to get your thoughts and further feedback on what we are doing ...... Participants needed for Micro and SME sustainability assessment! Are you looking to assess your current environmental, social and governance impact? The Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce and the University of Lincoln is working on a sustainability assessment for Micro and SME businesses. After our initial work with a small pool of businesses we are looking to test the pilot on a larger scale. If you are a business with 25 and under employees or sole trader and can spare an hour to meet with Annabelle, our project led to trial the self-assessment and provide feedback. We are drawing together local, national government guidelines, science-based targets and more regulatory sources of information into one place to help businesses identify any gaps in their environmental, social and governance performance. We aim to help businesses better engage with customers, community, suppliers and government and reduce operating costs!
