internship offer, do not hesitate to join us : Master's Internship / Final Year Engineering School Internship "Electrodehydrogenation of Polyols" Internship Location: Institut de Chimie des Milieux et Matériaux de Poitiers (IC2MP) The goal of the project associated with this internship is to develop a bio-based Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) by creating systems that enable the electrocatalytic dehydrogenation of bio-based polyols and the hydrogenation of carboxylic acids to form polyols. This system will consist of an electrolysis cell for dehydrogenation and a continuous catalytic reactor for the hydrogenation of the LOHC. The objective of this internship is to study the electrochemical dehydrogenation reaction. Catalysts will be prepared, and an in-depth investigation of their properties will be conducted to achieve the selective transformation of bio-based polyols in a three-electrode cell and a two-electrode electrolysis cell. The intern will conduct experiments in Poitiers and will receive training before independently handling certain physicochemical analyses to characterize the obtained products. In general, the student, with a background in chemistry, should be motivated by the prospect of carrying out experimental work. The internship, lasting 4 to 6 months, will be funded through the payment of the legal stipend. Contact: C. COUTANCEAU - christophe.coutanceau@univ-poitiers.fr K. As you embark on your internship journey in the field of chemistry, remember that every experiment, every trial, and every error is an opportunity to learn and grow. You are not just testing hypotheses, you are shaping the future of science and technology. Your work may seem small in the grand scheme, but it is a vital piece of the puzzle that will lead to breakthroughs and innovations. Don't be afraid to ask questions, seek guidance, and explore new ideas. Remember, the greatest chemists were once interns, facing the same challenges and doubts that you may be experiencing now. But they persevered, and so can you. So, put on your lab coat, gloves, and goggles with pride. You are part of a legacy of scientists who are changing the world, one experiment at a time. Keep pushing boundaries, seeking answers, and making a difference. The future of chemistry is in your hands.

Mastering Serial Dilution in the Lab -In the lab, serial dilution is a key technique I use to create solutions with progressively lower concentrations. -By taking a known volume of a high concentration stock solution and diluting it with a solvent, I can achieve precise concentration gradients. -Each step involves using the newly diluted solution as the stock for the next dilution. -This method is crucial for various experiments like preparing calibration curves in analytical chemistry. #Chemistry #LabWork #SerialDilution #Science #Research #AnalyticalChemistry #kfmrc #internship

8 weeks have flown by. Thanks to Siyun Cao for joining us at the Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Sheffield for the #fuse2024 The Faraday Institution internship scheme. Solomon Brown and I had the pleasure of introducing Siyun Cao to the field of battery safety and thermal runaway modelling. A new topic as well as modelling methods was a lot to learn in a short time but it didn't phase her. Wishing her all the best for the future. #safebatt #thermalrunaway #liionbattery #batterysafety #simulation
