𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐚𝐩: 𝐈𝐭’𝐬 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 💡 For centuries, women’s health has been overlooked, dismissed, or underfunded. Did you know that women weren’t required to be included in clinical research until 1993? Even today, only 4% 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐑&𝐃 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 is dedicated to women’s health. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚 𝐠𝐚𝐩—it’s a missed opportunity to improve 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬. To close the gender health gap, we need to: 💡 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 focused on women’s health. 💡 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 for diseases that primarily affect women. 💡 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐬 that has shaped medicine for far too long. A healthier future starts with equity in research, funding, and care.
