Disability education is vital and it must transcend competencies. We need disabled doctors working alongside trainees to combat the deep-seated ableism we learn from society. We must also encourage disability consciousness, and change the way we teach about disability under the medical model. Attacking the issue from both curricular and social angles is the best way to reduce #ableism.
