The risk or fear of uncomfortable conversations about #diversity, #equity, and #inclusion often impedes managers and employees from addressing important issues and implementing or advancing key #DEI initiatives. Antonio Neri, CEO of Hewlett Packard Enterprise, refers to it as the "frozen mindset." Speaking with me at the latest "CNBC Equity and Opportunity Forum," he said, "Ultimately, it is not because they don’t want to help. It’s just they don’t know how to do it. And sometimes, we as human beings have a hard time asking for help.” So, what can C-suite and business leaders do to foster constructive conversations about DEI? First step: LISTEN! Hold multiple listening sessions, as this CEO has done, even on topics that may be difficult to discuss. As Neri told me, "If you’re not vulnerable, you’re not learning. So being uncomfortable is part of your growing journey." #CNBCEquityandOpportunity CNBC Events, CNBC, NBCUniversal News Group, Comcast CNBC Workforce Executive Council, CNBC Technology Executive Council

It's time to meet another member of our Community Advisory Board Leadership Team! I am truly honored and grateful to rebuild with a team of amazing leaders who provide mentorship, leadership, guidance, and perspective as we shape the next chapter of Wonder Women Tech. I can honestly say that before having this level of expertise to bounce strategy and ideas off of, I thought I was "crazy" or a "failure" for the things I did or didn't do. For so many years I had to test things out and throw things at a wall to see if it stuck and navigate the lows in silence. Not anymore! I've since learned many leaders have ridden the same crazy roller coaster I've been on. I am grateful for their kindness, compassion and grace as I am just as vulnerable with them as I am in public. This is a safe space for open communication and belonging. Katie Wilson first joined our Wonder Women Tech ecosystem as one of our speakers in 2019, and again in 2023, and joined our CAB this year! She was the Former Google Head of Sales, and is the founder of Serious Moonlight Consulting. She is a sales & marketing leader helping tech and retail companies achieve sustainable growth. After leaving big tech (15 years at Google) she has helped companies untangle and demystify their sales and marketing processes to achieve sustainable growth. Katie has been featured on @Google Talks, Wonder Women Tech and is on the advisory board for UC Riverside’s Design Thinking course and Wonder Women Tech. She is known for her unique blend of creative and analytical thinking. She has interviewed over 400 would-be Googlers and helped launch LVMH’s first ecommerce site. Katie is also incredibly KIND, and is a very active part of our Advisory team. She is also on our Programming and Fundraising Subcommittees, and will be hosting official Wonder Women Tech side events as part of our growth efforts. I am truly grateful to be in such wonderful company. Thank you for your contributions, Katie! Get to know her and our other WWT leaders: https://lnkd.in/gq8diRVi #WonderWomenTech #Sales #Leadership #AdvisoryBoard #Gratitude #Growth #Impact #DecadeOfImpact

It was a pleasure to highlight what we’re doing at SoftwareOne to attract and retain diverse talent. Some of our key initiatives include: 🤝 Building a global partnership with PowerToFly to expand our diverse hiring pipeline. 🌍 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 programs to create more opportunities across regions. 🎓 Our SoftwareOne Academy Program to develop career pathways for emerging talent. 🧑🏫 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 programs and 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬 that foster belonging. 🌱 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 to uplift future leaders from all backgrounds. It was great to hear how other companies are also innovating in this space, from 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬 to retain female talent, to 𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, which support inclusive leadership. Common themes included tools like Textio to create gender-neutral job descriptions and streamlined interview processes to reduce biases. One powerful takeaway shared by many: 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐛𝐮𝐲-𝐢𝐧 and 𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 are essential. Actions speak louder than words—it’s all about continuously moving forward, not just talking about it. 🌟Panel Recap: Is the Era of DEI over? 🌟 🎯 Insightful and very much to-the-point discussion during this morning’s panel with our speakers: ** Laila Pinheiro, Public Affairs Head, Director EMEA at Syngenta ** Jeremy Stockdale, CEO at Ylead ** Roberta Diachok I ᴾᴹᴾ ᴹᶜᴿ ᵂᴱᴸᴸ ᴬᴾ ᴸᴱᴱᴰ ᴬᴾ, Senior Manager ATS Global Engineering Services at Amazon We heard the panelists’ thoughts on how to ensure we keep up the discussion and the progress on DEI as many countries are facing a lot of backlash against these initiatives. Some key takeaways: ▶️ appreciate the value of in-company sponsorship in helping diverse talent to advance on their professional journey and get access to leadership positions ▶️ talk to your family, friends and colleagues including across generations in order to gain a different perspective on things ▶️ the situation in Europe vs the USA is slightly different in terms of the approach socially to DEI so there is hope that Europe won’t face the same levels of backlash we’ve been witnessing in the US #rlsummit2024 #riseandlead #dei #diversotyequityinclusion

Lucky to have always worked at organizations where Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) was taken at heart, I'm delighted to say that I am now part of the Chair of Leadership and Diversity, UC3M-CEOE Foundation-Adecco Foundation within #CEOPorLaDiversidad Alliance. https://lnkd.in/dR92zXnT My thanks to Carmen Paz-Aparicio, Chair Holder and Associate Professor of Management at @Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, for making me part of the Chair Team, as well as the Chair Presidents, Fátima Báñez, President CEOE Foundation and @Enrique Sánchez, President Adecco Foundation for fostering these kind of activities. Truly excited about the road ahead! 🙌 In a nutshell, this is what the Chair is all about: "The Chair promotes research, training and knowledge transfer and dissemination on Leadership and Diversity and focuses on a strategic issue for companies, to the extent that diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) policies and the commitment to inclusive leadership occupy a prominent place in the business agenda. Thus, organizations are increasingly aware that having inclusive leaders, who value and leverage the diversity of the workforce and all stakeholders, enables them to understand the needs of society, making more conscious, responsible and sustainable decisions. The added value of this initiative is based on the fact that university-business collaboration produces an indisputable symbiosis. Firstly, the University promotes academic research on leadership and diversity, fostering an innovative vision of equity and inclusion - fundamental dimensions in the business world - while companies have the opportunity to be closer to the knowledge-generating focus, drawing on university research to continue progressing in their strategies. Thus, the implementation of this Chair produces a win-win effect with great potential to accelerate and give greater concreteness to leadership and diversity policies, amplifying results and progressing towards the proposed objectives." Thank you Fundación CEOE, Fundación Adecco, #AlianzaCEOPorLaDiversidad for supporting and promoting this Chair! 😁 #diversity, #equity, #inclusion, #DEI, #socialinnovation, #diversitypolicies

In today’s workplaces, multiple generations collaborate, bringing unique perspectives and skills. How do we unlock the power of generational diversity to foster collaboration, innovation, and mutual respect?💡 Amanda VanOverbeke, Chief of Staff for Americas CEO at Accenture, explains the value of generational differences: "When you have these different generations that come in, they bring this institutional knowledge. Maybe my generation brings a set of problem solving skills. We didn't have Google. Then you have people who are coming in now, they bring in a world knowledge and they bring in access to technology and applications that I've never seen before. We have this melding of ideas at a technology company from problem solving to these new technologies that are coming in and changing faster than anyone had imagined. And that's what is our superpower in being able to bring all those together.” 💡 Discover actionable strategies to understand better, communicate with, and bring out the best in colleagues of all generations in the latest ThinkND Game Changers series, Powered by IrishCompass: https://go.nd.edu/ef02f0 #ThinkND #NotreDame #GoIrish University of Notre Dame
