How companies lay people off is a great indicator of what they actually value. Don’t let a 30 minute performative onboarding session on values convince you that you’re anything more than a number to a company who kicks people to the curb without warning. ✌🏼
How many consecutive years does a company need to lay off hundreds of employees before they become an undesirable employer? Are candidates asking how often a potential employer lays off large swaths of employees during the interview phase? I wonder if candidates/new hires are morphing their mental approach to new roles with companies that do these massive annual layoffs. Do they treat their employment more like a contract role where they only think ahead 6 months to maybe a year at most? 🤔
